The Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts, rebranded in December 2015 to The Delaware Contemporary, is Delaware’s only contemporary art museum. Founded in 1979, and formerly called the DCCA, it is a non-collecting museum focused on work by local and regional as well as national and international artists.The Delaware Contemporary moved from the former waterworks building near downtown to the Christina riverfront in Wilmington, Delaware in 2000. In 2008, it ceased charging admission to view the galleries to offer families more affordable cultural choices during the recession.Staffthe "Gretchen Hupfel Curator of Contemporary Art" at the Delaware Contemporary is Jackie Milad. The Director is John Shipman.

  • Beautiful this contemporary arts centre, for those who like neh, has several pictures of various styles and ' to stay at least 1 hour. Is also connected to the College of Art.

  • This was a beautiful venue for the wedding reception. The atmosphere was extremely conducive! Lots to look at. The food was extraordinary! Highly recommend it! 
  • Interesting exhibits, changing periodically which is refreshing. I always look forward to seeing something new and innovative. Thanks to all artists.
