  • An absolute beautiful diamond in the rough of Wilmington. This is a great place to go and be connected to nature and the wildlife that still exists even within the city limits. Even though it's right next to the Blue Rocks stadium and close to the interstate, it's peaceful, tranquil, and offers beautiful scenery along the river and wetlands. From the bridge leading over the train tracks, you get a great view of downtown Wilmington too. The actual refuge walking path is a curvy boardwalk through a portion of the wetlands with benches and even little "docks" that jut out even further into the water to offer an up close opportunity to see the wildlife.
  • What's good : A pleasant surprise for bird watchers & nature lovers. It's not a sanctuary but for a place that close within reach of Wilmington downtown with so much diverse flora and fauna, it's a treat. At 5 mins distance from office in downtown, a walk here will unwind your stressful day.
  • Not a bad place to take a walk when the weathers nice. Depending on the time of year you go, it can be very nice, or I can have a ton of bee's, so if you're allergic take your precautions..
  • You can walk on a path through the marsh land. Nice place for the kids
  • Well designed for beauty, exploration, and learning. Great for a stroll or observe nature. The rock garden(s) are great for a relaxing, quick bite. Staff is friendly and helpful.
