  • If you can, walk down to Fossil Beach. It's along the York Rivers. Not only is it scenic, but actually has fossils.  more »
  • We enjoyed walking the riverwalk trail in Yorktown and then stopping at a local restaurant. It's a good place for an easy, laid back little jaunt.  more »
  • If you want to walk or ride bikes this part has great trails. It’s well maintained and clean. Beautiful views of the water. Perfect place to put your kayaks in and just paddle around in peace.  more »

  • $4 entrance fee. Very scenic and nice. Would recommend going when they first open or on weekdays because a bunch of people with kids come after 10-11. We enjoyed hiking and will definitely come back to kayak. I took this scenic pic for y'all but this lady kept getting in my way.
  • We come here regularly to hike and enjoy the outdoors but this May (2017) we held our wedding ceremony here. It was perfect and simplistic. We didn't want our wedding at any of the facilities so we only had to pay a permit fee to hold our ceremony on site. The staff was extremely easy to work with to get this permit completed. We showed up the day of our wedding and held it down by the labyrinth maze and the site was beautiful. Perfect combination of woodsy with a water view of the pond.
  • I've been going here for years with my boys. Always have a great time. Kayak rentals aren't to bad, and the beach's they have are pretty cool.
  • Beautiful, lots to do. $4 to park. Additional for activities. Hike for free. 1 fossil per hiker
  • $6 for park entry. Once you've paid the entry fee, it allows you to fish off the pier with no license required. They also have a boat launch.

Where to stay in Williamsburg

Williamsburg offers lodgings for every taste, including four-star resorts, quaint inns, and budget-friendly hotels. Accommodations in the city's historical district provide easy access to all of the area's major attractions, but they also charge much higher prices than equally comfortable guesthouses in some of the outlying neighborhoods. For a genuine Virginian experience, consider pitching a tent or renting a cottage in one of the area's popular campgrounds, which offer shuttle services to the city's major attractions and provide free Wi-Fi, cable TV, and fenced-in areas for pets.
