Water Country USA, Williamsburg

4.3
#2 of 16 in Theme Parks in Virginia
At Water Country USA, the Mid-Atlantic's largest water park, hit the adrenaline inducing slides, lose control in dark water tunnels, and then take a break at one out of many pool lounges. While you're trying out water rides, the surroundings will be transporting you to the 1950s and 1960s surfers' world. You can try out strength and balance challenges, visit shops and restaurants, and watch live entertainment. Children can play interactive pool games. Not to be missed is the Colossal Curl--the only ride of its kind in North America--nearly as long as two football fields, featuring a funnel, waves and an experience of weightlessness. Lockers and food are available at the site. Put Water Country USA and other Williamsburg attractions into our Williamsburg trip planner , and watch your holiday take shape.

  • Have been going to Water Country since my kids were babies, it is something to do for everybody, any age. Love this place.  more »
  • It was an extremely busy day as it was HOT! Long lines and kind of slow. Shade is hard to come by and if you don't get there right as it opens forget about finding a chair for the rest of the day. My ...  more »
  • We had 2 park pass & couldn't pass this up on a July vacation. Had fun with the family. It's a pretty big place so invest in water shoes so your feet don't hurt from a lot of walking. Loved that some ...  more »

  • I have to give this place 5 stars. My 5 year old was able to go on all the rides. He is 48 inches tall. They even let him wear a life vest on the slides to make dad feel better. It is a family friendly place. The grounds are beautiful landscaped. Only con is as with every theme park, food is over priced.
  • Awesome Water Park!! The wait time was ridiculously long and that was the only thing that killed my feet! But other than that this was my favorite park in VA!! Restrooms were really clean! Staff were very friendly! The family had a blast and can't wait to go back!! Food was great and very filling!
  • Associate at the windows were lazy and had attitude. As an annual member, I knew I had $35 off of single day ticket for family and friends. I didn't get the ticket online because I wasn't sure of what the weather was gonna be like. I went to the window to get my "bring a friend" ticket, and I said I need 3 more tickets. Because I had my military ID, she assumed that I was trying to get a military discount and kept insisting that my ticket should be $32 each. I told her that it should only be $25 because I have an annual pass and I get $35 off. She said that online pricing is different. So I left the line and did my research online. I went to another window that was open and had to show them what it says on their website. I can do it online, at the kiosk or at the window. Of course the whole time I was thinking I made a mistake by going to the window where people can't do their job right or refuse to do it unless you can prove them wrong! I figured since we were doing something else at the window might as well get the other tickets there too. Well, I thought wrong! I wish they would just let us members get the "bring a friend" ticket online just like Busch Gardens. So much easier when you don't have to deal with people who makes bunch of excuses so that they don't have to do their job! Sorry for the long note, I was really frustrated with them. 😡
  • Fantastic water park with lots of activities for all age groups. Lines tend to get long but they offer a fast option at a steep price for a family. Food options are good and reasonably priced. Getting a souvenir cup gets you free refills all day making it well worth it.
  • I went to water country for the first time about 3 weeks ago and I loved it. It is clean and has some really fun things to do. There isn't many places to eat but there are a few.

Where to stay in Williamsburg

Williamsburg offers lodgings for every taste, including four-star resorts, quaint inns, and budget-friendly hotels. Accommodations in the city's historical district provide easy access to all of the area's major attractions, but they also charge much higher prices than equally comfortable guesthouses in some of the outlying neighborhoods. For a genuine Virginian experience, consider pitching a tent or renting a cottage in one of the area's popular campgrounds, which offer shuttle services to the city's major attractions and provide free Wi-Fi, cable TV, and fenced-in areas for pets.
