Where to stay in Williamsburg

Williamsburg offers lodgings for every taste, including four-star resorts, quaint inns, and budget-friendly hotels. Accommodations in the city's historical district provide easy access to all of the area's major attractions, but they also charge much higher prices than equally comfortable guesthouses in some of the outlying neighborhoods. For a genuine Virginian experience, consider pitching a tent or renting a cottage in one of the area's popular campgrounds, which offer shuttle services to the city's major attractions and provide free Wi-Fi, cable TV, and fenced-in areas for pets.

  • Beautiful park. Equipment rental is reasonably priced and kept clean and in good working order. We went fishing and only caught one fish, but enjoyed the gorgeous reservoir and the peaceful surroundings.
  • Waller Mill Park is beautiful and well maintained. It offers activities for all ages, including picnicking with charcoal grills and playgrounds, hiking and nature trails, fishing, boating, frisbee golf, a dog park, and more. The entry fee is extremely reasonable. I have been enjoying Waller Mill Park for over 30 years.
  • Paid parking is worth it, especially if you have a dog, boat, love to fish or hike. The dog park is fun for the puppies. The employees at The boathouse are very friendly. There are picnic tables EVERYWHERE for you to enjoy the outdoors. I also feel that the boat rentals are very reasonable.
  • Workers there are very nice. Picnic area was gross with cobwebs, bug larvae etc. Grills are very small. Paddle boats, canoes, and motor boats available- which are very nice.
  • Beautiful park! Went kayaking with a group of people. It was only $5/hr to rent kayaks, paddles, and life vests!
