  • Another Mike Strantz course and if you like Mike's course design as much as I do, then you will appreciate playing here. I found each hole to have its own personality - in other words, I never got bor...  read more »
  • This is a fun and tough course. You need to be in the correct position in a lot of the fairways. I was expecting the course to be in much better shape. Sand traps were very poorly maintained. They had weeds that were 5 feet tall in them. the greens and tee boxes need a lot of attention. Greens were incredibly slow and tee boxes had grass that was way to long. Some tee boxes didn't have grass at all. This time of year most courses are in top shape. I don't think I will be back here in the future, it is not worth the money.
  • Terrible customer service in the pro shop. Played the course in April. The guy in the pro shop said if it rains and you play less than 6 holes you can get a raincheck for 18. It started raining after the 1st hole so we waited. Then rained after the 2nd hole. So we waited after the 4th hole it rained harder and never stopped. We sat under the trees and umbrellas for about 45 minutes and talked. After playing the 5th hole we decided to quit. Went back to the pro shop for our raincheck and only got one for 9. We told him we didn't play 6 holes but he said we were gone for 2.5 hours so we had a play more than 6. We explained we were trying to wait it out but he said "oh well, sorry" he had an attitude and acted very rude. I will not return to Stonehouse and will not recommend it on my golf blog. I even gave away my 9 hole raincheck away. The course was in ok shape but it's quirky with dozens of blind shots. Greens have alot of undulations like a putt putt course. But overall the poor service kills this place !!
  • in September 2011 , I liked the course because it is a lot of challenge. Of the 18 holes, 12 blind shot ... To improve , a simple card giving the distances would be so appreciated ( and necessary) Because of that, I won't go back there!
  • great layout through the natural surroundings of the area....loved the wide fairways and very large greens (but with those there is the potential for many 3 putts)...on the negative side was having all four par 3s approximately the same yardage and a lot of walking even with 90 degree cart could never walk this course--have never seen so much distance from green to tees....very challenging---should never attempt to play this course if you score in the 90s or will wear you out....enjoy....
  • if you like golden tee cartoonish holes this is your golf course, lots of blind shots, it requires a high degree of accuracy. i have to say this golf course whipped my butt but it was a lovely layout. only wrong thing with it is that out of the 3 traditions courses around the area, it was the least well kept. this course has a lot of potential it just needs a lil love.
