  • This is worth a visit to the area to see if you are up for a long hike or just a short walk around the preserve. In the midst of the dry desert, there is always some water running through the preserve...  more »

  • What an awesome lil gem in the desert! Great place to catch a nature walk. They are not too rugged, but some areas have soft sand. Great for bird watching, train watching, and just getting outside. Stop in at the lil chaparral ice cream shop in wickenburg when you're done!!! They have lunch items too, salads were wonderful!!!
  • I was actually very impressed when I went here! I had to go for a college assignment and enjoyed every second I was there! The one gentleman who worked there was knowledgeable and explained a lot to us. The bugs that live here are Jurassic park size! I loved looking at everything and I didn't even get to see all of the wildlife that this place has to offer. I would say take your kids here! Quiet and a nice way to spend your day!
  • Great gift shop photos. Good story tellers. Wildlife. An actual true natural desert oasis spring flowing 365 days/year one hour from the heart of phoenix.
  • Beautiful and pleasant river preserve. Can be boring in the dead of summer. Later spring, when river is flowing, seems best.
  • Awesome hidden Phoenix valley
