  • We had a great time with our family at this zoo. We try to visit the zoo in every city we visit with family. The zoo is laid out very well - it is pretty much a big loop. You can easily see everything in one visit. Some of our favorite areas were the gorillas and orangutans because they each had babies in the exhibit. Additionally, the kid area is awesome. Tons of opportunities of for kiddos to pet animals and walk through a farm like setting. You can also feed the goats and sheep for &0.50. Also, there are baby pigs and sheep throughout the petting zoo, which is even more fun! The elephant, giraffe, hippo, and rhino exhibits are cool as well. We went later in the afternoon to those exhibits so many of the animals were inside eating which was fun to see. Lastly, great opportunities to feed fish throughout the park for $0.50. Food options are not great but certainly offers a few options for families. You can of course bring own food inside. Handicap and stroller accessible. Note, there is not a ton of shade in the zoo so warmer days may be pretty tough for some folks.
  • One of the best zoos I've been to. The way the exhibits are created are amazing. From the tiger enclosure to the new elephant enclosure, the experience is worth the cost. Kids will have a fun time at the petting zoo and there will be enough walking that by the time you're done, they'll be sleeping in the vehicle. I definitely recommend this to anyone who is traveling close to Wichita!
  • A large local zoo, funded in large part by the Koch brothers (you'll see their names on several exhibits). Open almost every day, wide pavement paths, all amenities, stroller rental, food & beverages available. Zoo is very well kept. Wear comfortable shoes & sunscreen, bring spending $ for boat rides, animal feedings and souvenirs. This could be an all day excursion so pack your own cooler to save money. If you frequent the zoo, or others in network, buy a membership for the biggest bang for your buck.
  • I have been visiting the Sedgwick County Zoo for the past 38 years & have many wonderful memories. The zoo is beautiful & one could easily spend an entire day checking out the exhibits. I recommend getting a season pass if a local- well worth it. If you are visiting Wichita consider making a trip to our zoo😁
  • For what it is, it's a great zoo. There are lots of animals to see and it's quite a walk so bring comfortable shoes. The prices are not ridiculous for food etc although you can bring a packed lunch and eat it at a quite a few designated areas. All in all we would go again.
