  • I was really impressed with this zoo. It was big and had a huge variety of animals from all over the world. It is on par with the most well known zoos.  more »
  • As locals we always have a membership here because there is so much to see and do and each trip can be different. We've been to dozens of other zoos and I think the Sedgwick County zoo beats them all,...  more »
  • It seems for at least the last decade maybe more the local zoo has grown with new exhibits and wildlife every year. Not just an elephant here or a hyena there or a tiger this and that but entire walk ...  more »

  • You have an absolute gentleman working here. Mr. Max Lakes deserves a special mention for an act of kindness to a complete stranger. I found out about an overnight event at the zoo, but it was 24 hours AFTER the registration period closed. I really wanted to take my daughter, so i made some phone calls. Long story short, this wonderful person coordinated with the folks operating the online registration, had it reopened, called me and let me know. I got in, registered myself and my daughter, and then he closed the site once again. He was a completely accommodating and kind person who could have easily said no, but her went above and beyond for complete strangers. Kudos to you, sir. I can't thank you enough.
  • This is a fantastic zoo. The exhibits seem to include larger space for animals than what you might see at other zoos. The new elephant area is a great addition. The bird and chimpanzee exhibits and very well done. Unfortunately, the boat rides were closed the day I visited, but I have heard that it is worthwhile to do them. And the prices for food here are incredibly low. A Cheeseburger and onion ring meal at Beastro is ~$6. This same meal would be around $15 at the Atlanta zoo.
  • I grew up with the expectation that all zoos were this incredible. Traveling and even living in other bigger cities, I've visited a lot of renowned zoos — yet none can compare to SCZ! Now that I'm a new mom, it's been so fun getting a family membership and experiencing all the awe through my kiddo's eyes. Setting the bar high for her too!
  • What can I say it was a zoo. Well-managed, well cared for animals. However, being the summer season I don't believe the animals wanted to put on a show or be particularly seen. Penguin attraction was very nice very nicely done. I would recommend it for a Saturday out with family.
  • Awesome zoo, so many animals with great exhibits. The staff was very friendly, even took the time talk to use about the birds and other animals. Affordable ticket pricing. We will go back next time we are in the Wichita area.
