Standing 32.6 m (107 ft) tall, this towering red brick octagonal structure with 1.2 m (4 ft) thick walls was built in 1898. • Went to visit on a Monday before they opened. Easy to view from the road, and there is a viewing area set up alongside the road.  more »

  • Tallest lighthouse in Washington state. 135 steps to the top. Ask the friendly informative volunteers any questions you have about lighthouses. Great views if the weather is right, but surprisingly far from the coast. Guided tour lasts 20+ minutes. (You may also have to wait at the top for the previous group to finish.) PARENTS: Kids must be at least 5 to go up - no exceptions.
  • Surprisingly awesome experience for older kids and adults. Being inches away from a 120 year-old piece of precision hand-ground glass workmanship (the prisms to focus the rotating light) is a unique and beautiful experience. The volunteers tell really interesting stories about the lighthouse construction. Plan about 45 minutes to an hour for your visit. Get a slight discount on price of tickets if you visit the Maritime museum first and show your ticket stubs.
  • Staff was super friendly and helpful. I loved learning about the History of the place. And the view once you reach the top is amazing. I can only imagine what it will be on a clear day. Worth visiting!!!
  • Small fee to walk up the 135 steps to the top. Was foggy when I visited but the views should be great. Also excellent beach walking or take the paved path all the way to Westport.
  • This lighthouse is super cool. Definitely worth the $5 donation. And the people working there were really nice, and gave a great history of the buildings. Go, if you're in the area!
