  • Visited after my class at Longshore Sailing School. Enjoyed the concessions. Great view from the cannons  more »
  • This beach gets a lot of hype. It is clean and has a nice playground for little ones. But unless you are a Westport resident you pay a ridiculously high fee to enter / park; I just don't think it...  more »
  • Lovely Long Beach with full facilities. Plenty of space, but almost impossible parking for non-residents. We bring a bike along, unload and then park two miles away. A hassle, but doable.  more »
  • Nice beach with a lot of facilities, they have restrooms, water fountains, a big playground, volleyball courts, a store with lots of snacks and fast food. Another great thing about it is that they have a lot of accessibility with special chairs and paths. There are also some picnic tables. You can get a Westport recreation parks sticker or pay for a daily visit.
  • Beautiful clean beach! The water was surprisingly more clear then I expected. Lots of benches and picnic tables. Plenty of parking and they recently added and additional bathroom area. The sand is full of sea shells so I suggest wearing water shoes.
  • Clean well maintained and beautiful beach, nice playground for kids, good walkways and jogging path, good skate board area, lots of parking, entry ticket or summer pass expensive, beautiful water front grills and benches for cook out, bath rooms small, lockers available, restaurant serves good food at reasonable price
  • Cons: Where you should go to park is confusing. The beach itself is gravelly with lots of small shells. Not particularly captivating. Neutral: $40 for parking during the week. The price is okay if you're sharing and if the parking spot for non-residents weren't on dirt. Close beach if you don't feel like going to the boroughs or Long Island. However there are so many small beaches in the NY/CT area this one doesn't stand out. Pros: Clean bathrooms. Eatery on the beach. (Didn't use it, don't know the cost.) They're building out the walking path and adding picnic tables. Personal Experience: Upon arrival I received a "what can I do for you ladies". Well we want to use the beach why else would we be here. There was a cop car around and the officer inside nastily stared at my friend and me. Bigots? Or typical behavior? Not sure, but worth mentioning. Background: I've been to some of the most beautiful beaches around the world from the Americas to Australia which is why this has a 3 and not a 2, because I'm rating it on it's own merits and not in comparison to great beaches.
  • Lovely beach on LI Sound
