  • This was a great little discovery. The wine was excellent and Brooke made the tasting experience a ton of fun. We will definitely be back.  more »
  • This is a great place! Crafted in an old church this winery boasts tons of history. Come for the wine, stay for the ambiance and come back for the people. Lots of options and a gorgeous deck or garden...  more »
  • Yo, this place is awesome. Blue made my day 200% more awesome. Pirtle is in a quaint little church and you can drink on the garden. #pirtle #bluedadadidadeeda  more »

  • Positive - the wines are tasty. We bought a bottle of the Raspberry Mead and enjoyed it on the patio surrounded by greenery. The lady helping us, it was her first day, her energy and enthusiasm definitely showed. Negative- The tasting was STINGY. I would rather pay for a tasting and get to actually taste the wine instead of getting it for free and getting a thimble full of wine. The owner was obviously keeping a hawk eye on the one pouring because he came over and the ONE time she poured more than a tablespoon he was repremanding her in front of us. My boyfriend wanted to walk out right then, however we had driven an hour to get there and the wine, as much as we could tell with a tablespoon worth, was good. We will likely return, hopefully they get their wine tasting sorted out.
  • Incredibly friendly staff. Very explicative of the wines available for tasting, including the process. Cool building; old church from the late 1800s, renovated inside but still very neat.
  • One of the better wineries in the area. Their Norton is the best option the list. If you're not a fan of Midwest wines be wary of all the fruity ones, which are cloyingly sweet.
  • It's a nice building from the outside, but we didn't get a chance to sample their wines, as they are supposed to open at 10 am, we waited until 10:30 then left.
  • Scott Pirtle has done an amazing job of producing first-class wines in an area where the growing climate is suboptimal. Don't miss the Weston Bend Red. Very very nice.
