  • Loved, loved, loved!! We only got to drive across and stop at the visitors center but the views were breath taking. Wanted to drive Fayette Station Rd but unfortunately didn't have time this trip. I p...  read more »
  • One of the ghost towns we visited was the coal mining town of Nuttallburg (you can get there by car or hiking trail). The land was originally bought in 1870 and 3 years later Nuttallaburg was shipping...  read more »
  • We stopped on our way through at the New River Gorge National River Grand View Overlook. The view is amazing and there are some trails to hike that have lots of nice surprises.
  • This National River has soooo much to offer! From the amazing fishing locations along the river to the climbing routes available in the gorge and everything in between! I work for a Boy Scout property that was recently built just adjacent to the National River and we utilize the beauty and recreation of the NRG as much as possible. Now excuse me while I go packup my paddle board to go play on the river.
  • Great views of the river by the aptly named Grandview. Nearly deserted in the off season, so some great opportunities to see wildlife. Rafting down the river is a blast if you can get the trip organised.
  • Love the big beautiful bridge! The trip down the mountain to the bottom of the gorge is narrow & winding, but so much fun driving under the bridge!
  • Big, beautiful bridge. They close the bridge to traffic once per year for base jumpers and the like. Take the scenic / audio tour for free by picking up the complimentary CD at the ranger station.
  • Amazing views! Very historic! Take your time and relax! I loved it!
