The Maverik Center, originally known as the E Center, is a 10,100 seat multi-purpose arena located in West Valley City, Utah, United States. Construction on the arena started in 1996 and was completed in time to hold its first event on September 22, 1997. The arena is owned by West Valley City, and managed by Centennial Management Group, Inc.During the 2002 Winter Olympics it served as the main venue for the ice hockey events, and as the venue for ice sledge hockey during the 2002 Winter Paralympics. Today the arena is home to the Utah Grizzlies, and it is also a major venue in the area for numerous concerts and live touring productions.HistoryIn July 1995, only a month after winning the 2002 Winter Olympic bid, the Salt Lake Organizing Committee (SLOC) accepted a proposal from West Valley City to build a new ice hockey facility in their city. SLOC loaned $7 million to the city for construction costs, and would rent the arena from the city during the Olympic games. The arena would be funded through a variety of ways, but would be owned by the municipality of West Valley City, and used for various events before and after the games. Ground was broken for the arena on March 22, 1996, and construction was completed in September 1997; the E Center was officially dedicated in a ceremony on September 19, 1997. The first event held in the new venue was WCW's Monday Nitro Live on September 22, 1997.Using our online itinerary creator, West Valley City attractions like Maverik Center can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

Maverik Center Reviews
Recently was able to take a quick peek into the Maverik Center after having driven past it many times. What amazes me is that the Maverik Center actually is smaller than most stadiums for hockey that ... more »
We had a spectacular time at the motorcycle on ice event, and for the hockey game as well. We had safe parking, good food options, and a memorable family night out. I highly recommend it. We have also... more »
Not a bad place to watch small but a good place. The food is fine as well for being a venue. *************** more »
Love going to the concerts and events. Friendly and helpful management and staff. Have been to numerous concerts and events and the sound and views are great. The amenities are great. Food is good including options for desserts. The VIP boxes are big and the staff servicing them are friendly and accommodating. The options for some concerts has diminished over the years but it's not due to the venue, but more from the market. The events are very well executed.
We love the Maverik Center! So happy they finally changed Coke products. If you haven't seen a Utah Grizzlies hockey game here, don't hesitate, definitely make it to a game! They do a great job. Careful on the steps going up to the Maverik Center though, it wouldn't be very hard to crash and burn on them, my husband saw a lady take a pretty nasty spill down those outside stairs.
Good place to see hockey with the Utah Grizzlies, an ECHL team. Not quite like the NHL but they often have good games. There are always good seats available and you can often sit in row 3 or 4 just off center ice for about $20 per ticket, sometimes less. A great deal compared to NHL seats. The venue is well kept and nice to visit. The staff is always efficient and they do their jobs well.
Hockey Games are great! Although I feel tickets are a little pricey, I still enjoy the games. My tip on that is to watch for ticket deals they do them all the time. Concession prices are outrages, especially for the fact that 99% of the time the food is cold and tastes like gas station food. The venue is in good shape but parking is pricey and there's always a horrible traffic jam. It usually takes 30 minutes just to get out of the lot. I give it 3 1/2 stars would be 4 if the concessions were more reasonable.
I've been here multiple times. I didn't like the fact that I had to graduate here though, I wish it could have been at my high school. Great atmosphere for hockey and good advertising being right next to interstate. This place used to be called E-Center, it was a better name.
