Golf Course
Old Waverly Golf Club captures the essence of the Scottish Highlands within the graceful setting of the Old South. Upon entering the front gate, one is struck by the grandeur of the antebellum style Clubhouse and the allure of the surrounding landscape. Old Waverly has earned a reputation as one of America's greatest golf courses, as well as one of the most callenging. All of these factors contributed to Old Waverly's being chosen to host the 1999 U.S. Women's Open Championship.

The most outstanding feature of Old Waverly Golf Club is her superior 18-hole course. Designers Jerry Pate and Bob Cupp took special care to embrace the natural beauty of the surrounding countryside. The course's 7088 yards are a fair test to golfers of all levels. Each fairway, with its diverse direction and length, creates a different challenge, and the Champion Bermuda Grass greens are meticulously maintained. Lakes and magnificent age old trees welcome each player as the challenge of a new hole is encountered.

Southern hospitality is evident on and off the course. Whether learning the basics, or refining one's game, Old Waverly's superb staff of golf professionals can be of assistance. A full service pro shop offers the latest in golf attire and equipment, and a vast array of tournaments and clinics is held throughout the year.

  • Can't get enough of this place. Top notch course, staff, food, and the cottages/villas are amazing at a fair price.
  • An excellent golf destination. Our group of 16 from Memphis loved Old Waverly for our annual golf tournament. The food is excellent - order a BLT with a fried green tomato and pimento cheese. Staffing is very helpful and treats you like family. The cottages are easy and clean - very hard to complain about. The course was in perfect condition and was very fun to play several times over the weekend. Nice pool as well. I'll be back - hopefully soon!

  • Excellent venue for golf. Absolutely loved the greens. Greens were fast but excellent for putting. Two thumbs up for the maintenence staff, the course was in tremendous condition!
  • Had an opportunity to play golf here through my work @cspire. Beautiful course, helpful and courteous staff. This course held the US Women's Open in the late 90's I believe. One of the top courses in Mississippi.
