  • Chester County History if fascinating. Excellent library for family research. Archive resources excellent.
  • I have been a member since 1985 (many people don't realize you can join the society) and I use the research library on a regular basis. I was prompted to write a review here because of the excellent (and always unique) exhibits and programs. They always think of new ways to present topics such as the recent pairing of Longwood garden experts with Adrian Martinez 's current art exhibit on the 18th century botanist, Humphry Marshall. The show is up until at least December. Be sure to see it!
  • Excellent repository for local genealogical studies. Helpful staff.
  • I attended the lecture about the Sharples Separator at Greystone last night. What a wonderful evening! The speakers were very knowledgeable and the venue was perfect! I look forward to next Tuesday evening's lecture.
  • Hats off to the genealogy source that the CCHS provides in the community. The first Coatesville/Downingtown Swisher/Troupe to arrive in Chester County was in 1875 coming from Berks Co for work in the steel mills. I have found numerous documents over the years following the paths of the descendants. The Swisher family first arrived at the Port of Philadelphia in 1732 sailing from Switzerland. Thank you.
