  • The site is in the perfect location right off of I-80 and provides a great spot to take a stretch break. The site is set up as a village that has been preserved. Immediately when you enter from the vi...  more »
  • This was a informative tour of Hoovers birthplace. Recommend watching video at visitors center, and library. Interesting to see how he lived, and how he never forgot his roots even after being separat...  more »
  • Visited this site with friends who also love going to National Park Sites. I loved how many of the buildings on the grounds were open for us to walk in and explore what life was like for President Hoo...  more »
  • Make time for the library exhibits. The cottage was so impressive; the ironworks were interesting and it was nice to learn a bit there, too, but if I'd had more time I would've stayed another day and really gone into the library more, and I also would've seen more of the town. • I have to admit, I stopped here to get the park passport stamp and stayed because of the compelling story. It's fascinating to hear how Hoover's brilliant ideas as Sect. of Commerce just didn't translate well to the situation of the Great Depression. On the other hand, the same ideas with the added charisma of FDR became the New Deal. This charming location is well worth the stop if you are heading through.
  • A nice educational historic place and unique in American culture
  • Great presidential library and historic site with history on the only president from Iowa. The park rangers are very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.
  • Good to see a historical perspective of a misunderstood and blamed president.
