  • This is definitely a talking point as you hurtle by it on the Salt Flat section of the I-80 in Utah. For the longest time we've debated what it was, why it was there, was it falling apart?, who put it...  more »

  • Every time I drive past this sculpture I wonder "why?" Why is there a metaphor tree 20 miles from the flats. It's kind of cool but I don't know why it's there. Maybe someday I should research the hist...  more »

  • Got my little RAV 4 up to 100 mph, because well, you know, I could during my drive west on I-80 from SLC. "What the hell is that thing? Is it a cell tower?" Drive, drive, drive. "We gotta go back and see that thing that looks like giant tennis balls on poles or a giant penis and scrotum. Not sure which. Let's turn around here at that place that says no U turns." (Pictures, puzzled looks and a WTF?) Glad we stopped, because, well, that's what it's there for.
  • A great place for a little boy to stop and pee without all the other cars knowing that's what he's doing. Other than that it's a weird distracting thing in the middle of an impressive expanse of salt flats.
  • Fun to see for what it is. It is an odd structure out in the middle of the salt flats. There is no explanation of the art. Read up on it online. Stop take a pic when heading west and get back on the road quickly. Not much to see.
  • My dad always wanted to see it up close but the signs say emergency stopping only. He finally walked out there shortly before passing from lung cancer. As my mom was trying to call him back to the car he said "What they gonna do, take my birthday away?" I always think of him standing out there with his arms held high and a look of 'I did it!' when I pass bye. It makes me smile. Love you dad.
  • I found this piece quite moving. Hard to get to from the east bound lane.Minus 2 stars due to almost getting run over twice.
