  • I love this tree of balls! It lets me know I am close to the Salt Flats! It's also a point of interest of a very quite and eerie freeway! It breaks up the monotony!  more »
  • This is really just a drive by thing. Pretty intersting so slow down so you can try to figure what the artist wanted to state.  more »
  • When this sculpture was first created by Swedish architect, painter and sculptor Karl Momen, we knew it as the Tree of Life. It's official title is Metaphor: The Tree of Utah. It is 87-feet tall and w...  more »

  • I've been by this piece of art on numerous occasions. I love the fact that there's nothing around for miles and then pow, here's a giant art installation. I recall a time when it had recently rained and you really had to watch your step. I've included a picture of my sisters feet. She had chosen to wear flip flops that day and it was a little muddy :) Pics from 2009ish...
  • My dad always wanted to see it up close but the signs say emergency stopping only. He finally walked out there shortly before passing from lung cancer. As my mom was trying to call him back to the car he said "What they gonna do, take my birthday away?" I always think of him standing out there with his arms held high and a look of 'I did it!' when I pass bye. It makes me smile. Love you dad. Really though you should obey the signs and just take a glimpse while passing by on the freeway. The view is better from the westbound lanes.
  • Don't drive out on the salt flats or mud flats. Your car will get stuck in the clay and it costs $600 for a snowcat to come pull you out.
  • I saw this in 2004 and it did not have a fence around it. Sad that it cam to this. I'm hopping to be driving by this spot in June and get some Ariel shots of this to give a different look of it. Here is what it looked like.
  • I love getting to stop and look at the tree of life, it's a wonderful piece of art!
