  • Beautiful trail along the river. Easy to moderate difficulty. There are so many different trails you could go a hundred times and not hit them all.
  • Nice hike through lush forest to a viewpoint above the river. Views aren't spectacular; can't see Mt Hood or much of the waterfalls on the river. Still worth a visit.
  • The Salmon River is an amazingly beautiful Wild and Scenic River close to Portland. This is a great place to go for a hike and get away from it all.
  • It's really good place to hike, it's a long trip though... this trail for sure you would need to wear hiking shoes. I wore nikes and they did good but my feet got wet from crossing the small waterfalls. Bring snacks, water and paper towls.
  • Old growth forest along a very pretty river. The trails are not too strenuous, and if you look around after passing the lookout there are falls you can drop down to. Be advised, the off trail falls are dangerous to get to, but not that difficult of a scramble for an experienced hiker. New hikers should be fine as well, just exercise caution as the slopes are steep followed by a cliff, and a boulder strewn riverbed below... a very beautiful river.
