  • I had never been to a gulf beach before...surprise...no waves. That was a little different. Without the sound of the waves it felt more like visiting a lake. But the are was pretty, well laid out. The...  more »

  • We have had the opportunity to visit Pine Island in Spring Hill a number of times. Towards sunset many people flock to the island to wait and watch for the sun to set. We were also there to see a wedd...  more »

  • Beautiful, small beach with a lot to offer. Palm trees, playground, volleyball, covered pavilions, food stand, restrooms, etc. They also now have rentals (chairs/umbrella, paddle boards, kayaks, pedal boats). A drum circle every other Sunday starting about 3 hours before sunset. Water is shallow, fairly calm (sometimes some chop, but no breaking waves) and usually fairly clear, so it's a good place to take little ones. The only reason I didn't give this beach 5 stars is because the parking is limited and costs $5. We've been turned away on occasion because parking was at capacity (sometimes we go somewhere to eat, come back and get lucky enough to get in on the second try). Only beach in Hernando County and closest one to us so we enjoy it very much when we don't want to make the drive to the beaches farther south.
  • What a lovely, little beach! I almost don't even want to review because I don't want it to become over saturated! It's GREAT for families; not a teenage-filled, party beach. The parking is VERY organized, and only $5.00 (CASH ONLY) for the entire day. There is a little snack shack that serves quick eats like, burgers, chicken fingers, wraps, french fries, ice cream, and soda. No alcohol. The prices are a bit high for the quality, so I recommend bringing your own food. The bathrooms were very clean! Always a huge plus. My kids had a blast! The ambiance is very serene and tranquil. No loud music playing. Just peace and warm breezes.
  • I have been to this beach several times and absolutely loved it. Today I was disappointed because after driving over an hour to get there the parking lot was full and they didn't let anyone else in. I had previousky visited during the week never on a weekend and never had that problem. The beach is awesome for little kids, the water is shallow and they even have a playground. I have seen dolphins there a few times. If you go on the weekends get there early otherwise you will have a bunch of disappointed kids like I did. Also there is a $5 fee to get in so bring cash, they don't accept cards.
  • It's a cute little beach. Good for families with little kids. The water is pretty shallow almost like a wading pool. It has a playground and volleyball area. Also has a little snack bar. Bathrooms are clean for the most part. $5 parking. Good place to see jellyfish, stringrays, and crabs. Just watch where you are walking. Smells a little but it comes and goes.
  • Love it! But watch for sharks on both sides. Saw a shark 2 weekends in a row in shallow waist deep water, but also saw dolphins! Get there early so you can park.
