  • The reminded me of the movie the Bridges of Madison County!! Small souvenir/general store. Picnic tables bathrooms and a history center. Looks like there maybe horse back riding in season. Great stop!...  more »
  • There are activities here, but we mostly use it as a picnic stop and sometimes browse the old vehicles in a barn-like structure beside a river. There is a covered bridge and horse barn, and a general ...  more »
  • This is how it was early on, We especially enjoyed walking the covered bridge - quite a piece of work.  more »

  • Great place to see some traditional professions and crafts reenacted. Friendly volunteers. Lots to see. Not super busy.
  • The Center is a decent stop between Yosemite Valley and Mariposa Grove. It is a good place for the kids to run around. You may have to park here if the car park at Mariposa Grove is full. This is a good place to rest and have a lunch break and the river provide a pleasant place for it.
  • It is like a museum but a really dull one. I ended up spending more time on the river side than in this center itself.
  • Beautiful hotel. Classic, with some functions limited. Quite expensive.

Where to stay in Yosemite National Park

Yosemite National Park offers something for everyone. Choose from upscale or historic hotels, a well-appointed lodge, motel rooms, rustic cabins, canvas tent cabins, and developed campgrounds. Yosemite Village in the heart of the valley is the most convenient place to stay, but other accommodations line the roads leading to the village. If you can't secure a place inside the park, try the various lodges, inns, bed and breakfasts, cabins, cottages, and motels on the roads leading in from the west. Staying any further out can cost you valuable time that you could be spending hiking, biking, and sightseeing. To escape from the crowds in the valley, reserve a campsite at Crane Flat or Hodgdon Meadow, which are far enough out to provide solitude but close enough to reach major valley attractions in less than half an hour. Campgrounds along Tioga Road see even fewer crowds. If you plan to visit in summer, you must reserve accommodations (even campsites) well in advance, as Yosemite remains extremely popular with both visitors from afar and those based in California.
