  • I had a really fun day at Mount Madonna County Park . There are trails to hike to see the redwoods. There is the white fallow deer pens - and they sure are pretty. For those who like archery...  more »
  • Peaceful camping in the redwoods! Electric and water hookups, picnic tables and fire pits at the camp sites, nice hiking trails! Can't wait to come back!  more »
  • We spent two days hiking the trails here. They are well-marked and easy to navigate. Most trails are the size of a one-lane road. Lot's of beautiful new growth redwoods and run-off waterfalls. $6....  more »
  • Was expecting no shade on a hot afternoon wedding at the amphitheater. Turned out to be cooler than the valley below and plenty of shade provided by a lovely gazebo for the reception. A serene, lovely spot to explore and enjoy in the Bay Area. Recommend for an alternative to the traditional wedding venues!
  • This park is lovely; it's on the hilltops above the traffic. There is traffic getting there, but it's worth it: there are tons of hiking trails & things to see. The campground had nice large spots with picnic tables & fire-rings; firewood is available at stations throughout the campground. We hiked a few trails; all are well maintained & very well mapped with lots of signage to point you in the correct direction. We saw deer, wild turkeys, lots of squirrels & lots of blue jays & other birds. There is a shower house that was very nice, along with restrooms throughout the park. Full hookups for RVs, plus lots of tent camping & group sites.
  • Beautiful mountain side park. Full of tall redwoods and grassy meadows. We camped on a midweek holiday. The campsite was cheerful and rambunctious but everyone bedded down by sunset. Trails were peaceful, generally shaded, and not too strenuous. I thought the rolling mist, which seemed to roll in and out, was a beautiful sight amongst the evergreens.
  • This place is amazing. I live a five hour drive to the south of here, but it's absolutely worth the drive. The campgrounds are clean and well kept. Running water and flushing toilets for the "glamping" crowd 😉 There is more to see and do here than I have time to mention. The highlight of my trip was taking my two young boys to explore what remains of the Henry Miller House. There are Redwoods and Sequoia trees every where. The hiking paths are easy to follow, and not difficult. Good for all abilities. You've spent the time reading my go!
  • Really well maintained trails and facilities. Majestic redwoods everywhere. The campgrounds are nice as well. We took our trailers there and camped. Beautiful and nice spots. Easy to walk over to a trail like the twin Giants and hike through lush scenery. There are a lot if families that camp here. And that's what going camping is about. But if you are looking for a quiet campground, this may not be a great choice. If you do being a trailer or RV, get a spot in the lot that has 101 to 117. This lot has no tent camping. People here are great and helpful. There is no cell service on any network unless you go about 1/4 mile up the valley view road to the Vista point, which is a nice spot. Also they run out of firewood so maybe bring some if you can
