  • For our first wine tasting experience, Castel Grisch was perfect. The people there were down to earth and went out of their way to give us some really great tips. The place is beautiful and we sat a w...  more »
  • I dont know what to say besides there are a lot more offering around seneca for a wine tasting. Try any winery further north on either side of the lake for a much better experience
  • this is an attractive location. I was with a tour group and we had our tasting outside on the balcony. It was a lovely warm day and the hostess was accommodating. The huge group did not have to crowd ...  more »

  • NEVER HOLD A FORMAL EVENT HERE EVER My wife and I had our wedding held here. I cant describe to you the amount of stress that this place caused us. 1- When we went to look at the place, it was great, we loved it for its rustic feel, but then they decided to renovate the entire place, taking away the biggest thing we loved about it. 2- In the middle of planning for the wedding, they switched owners, and we were treated with such disrespect. The owner demanded that we pay our balance upfront two weeks before the wedding (which is against etiquette), or else she would cancel the entire wedding....TWO WEEKS BEFORE and she threatened to cancel. 3- The day of the wedding, everything was disorganized, nothing had been done the way we asked, and some things that we payed for we never ended up getting. 4-We ended up doing pictures outside and it happend to be a really cold day, and after our bridal party was done, the owner REFUSED to let the bridal party inside the wine room (which we rented out for the day) because there was a tour there (there wasnt supposed to be). She actually yelled at one of the bridesmaids to get away from the door...what kind of person does that to a paying customer? (On a positive note, the guy selling the wine gave them free wine as an apology because even he knew that the owner was being nasty. I need to make mention of the wedding coordinator, everything i stated above was NOT HER FAULT! She did a great job trying to get the wedding together, she was even willing to go out of her way to find another place for the wedding if the owner went through with cancelling. Her name was Lee Liter. Out of everyone who worked there, she cared more about us, then she did about the money. She is the ONLY reason why this review gets 2-stars Positive- Great view of Seneca Lake, and great vineyard
  • My girlfriend picked a few wineries to enjoy our time in the Finger Lakes District and we are so glad we chose Castel Grisch Winery! Dave met and greeted us in the parking lot before we entered the Tasting Room. Inside, we were met by Rashid (a former semi-pro football player) who provided the tastings...5 for $4! He was exceptionally friendly and we had a marvelous time talking to him and another couple who entered shortly after us. Afterward, we sat outside and enjoyed the Panini along with BBQ Ribs, and two sides...Baked Beans and Cole Slaw. Everything was absolutely delicious. We bought a few bottles of wine and the next time we're up in the area (planned for Oct-Nov time frame), we'll be back! Again, I can't say enough great things about the two guys who ran the place so well.
  • This is not a review of the winery, but of their manager Whitney. Based on a misunderstanding, I left a very bad review yesterday. Whitney and I were actually able to talk about it, and I now recognize that mistakes were made on all sides. My mistake was huge and hurt Whitney deeply. The fact that she was willing to get on the phone and have a balanced, adult conversation about this misunderstanding says a tremendous amount about her as a business woman. I hope that people reading this will give this winery a chance simply because they understand the fine (and disappearing) art of customer service.
  • Had the worst service on our entire tour. The manager was very nice and accommodating, but as soon as she left the 2 girls who gave us our tastings were extremely rude, rushed us through, then bad mouthed our group. They didn't know there was 1 group member left in the facility when they began their childish rants. We were scheduled to have lunch there but, to a man, we all said they are not getting another penny from us. Service is everything on these tours, this was an incredibly bad experience. I will NEVER purchase their wine and will tell my friends not to stop there during future tours.
  • Our order was put in behind others and we had a van rental where the 40 minute wait cut into our usage. When it was almost delivered the manager said that next time we're here (as if) that we ask for our order to be put in, in a timely manner. Sorry, ask the customer to tell your staff to do the job in a considerate time frame? How about I tell you how to cook the food too? Relies too heavily on wine tour traffic and thinks they can get away with it.
