  • We used this Memorial for two purposes, first as a memorial to those who have returned from war with a disability and as a common gathering point after touring museums on the mall.  more »

  • Beautiful, moving, under-visited memorial. Love the quotes and the ever burning flame. Right across from Bartholdi park, which is part of the US Botanic Gardens.
  • Holy crap I got mugged by a sea shell it was not fun it quite frankly hurt 1 star How did a sea shell even get here omg man
  • Beautiful monument. I don't think as many people visit it as they should because it is a bit out of the way
  • This is a fantastic memorial that is missed by just about every DC tourist, which is a shame. It's wonderfully laid out with a huge star shaped water installation and a burning fire in the middle. It's not the largest of the monuments by any stretch, but you can definitely spend quite some time here looking at how well this memorial was designed.
  • The American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial is very new and shares a profound message. "In war there are no unwounded soldiers" is scribed in to one of the glass walls that keep nearby traffic noise to a minimum. Those words alone make this memorial one of my favorites in Washington, DC. For photographers there are plenty of great opportunities with a water feature, an eternal flame and many details to explore. If you're touring Washington, DC near the Air & Space Museum then make the short walk to see one of the nicest memorials the city has to offer.
