  • Yep, weird giant statue of Einstein just sort of sitting next to Constitution Ave. It just invites people to climb on his lap for a photo, hence iconic, so many photos.
  • I visit this wonderful sculpture as often as possible. Located across Constitution from the Lincoln Memorial, right in front of the National Academy of Sciences is the coolest statue of Albert Einstei...  more »
  • The Albert Einstein Statue is located within walking distance of the Lincoln Memorial. Supposedly if you rub his nose it brings good luck or some of Einstein’s intelligence. While we were there severa...  more »

  • My favorite memorial! foundation made of white granite from Mount Airy, North Carolina; base is dark granite from Larvik, Norway. Inlaid in the base are about 2,700 silver rivets depicting the stars & planets, as well as their relative size and position at noon the day the memorial was dedicated! Make sure to climb on Albert's lap and rub his nose to get smarter!
  • A memorial to one of the greatest scientific mind of our century. You can sit with Einstein and get a selfie with him. For Science!
  • An excellent homage to a man most dear to hearts of many.
  • The Albert Einstein Memorial is one of those landmarks that only DC locals would stumble upon. It's not exactly in DC's guide books and it's not a memorial to make a trip to DC for, but if you're going to the Lincoln Memorial, walk a few blocks to the Einstein Memorial. It's a giant statue of Einstein sitting on stairs reading a book. Two things are cool about it: 1) You can climb into his lap for a photo opp without getting in trouble, and 2) If you stand in the center of the circle facing Einstein, your voice sounds awesome. Enjoy it!
  • Probably the only monument in DC you won't get arrested for climbing. *i do not endorse climbing Einstein, nor do I guarantee you won't get arrested*
