  • This is a beautiful town and I recommend anyone interested in history to take some time out of their day and visit. There is very frequent activities hosted at Historic Washington. I attended the Shakespeare in the park and it was awesome! I will never miss another if I have my way. So stop by, take in the sites and maybe get a bite at the ol tavern.
  • Timetravel into the past just by stopping by. Many buildings restored or moved from elsewhere and reconstructed. Contra: Very few houses can be visited. The old school house is now a dormatory. Post office closed - would be splendid to send mail from there. Pro: Really Excellent tour at Hempstead Court House.
  • Authentic historic town. Williams Tavern has excellent food at reasonable prices in great historic atmosphere.
  • The civil war reenactment was so neat! The people who work in this town are very happy and friendly. So interesting to visit.
  • It's a very historic preservation and people are very knowledgeable. Very quiet and quaint. Your tour guides are friendly. Very nice.
