Fascinating info on the Indians of North America. So much to see in a building that is not that big. A real find well worth the time.  more »

Best Indian Museum we have seen in a long time. Tucked away in a small town but so worth the trip to check it out. They are very friendly people that work there and have so many great Indian exhibits....  more »

Fantastic collection based on Bud Thompson's finds as a young man! Guided tours are available everyday from noon til 3 pm. Or you can schedule a group tour for your school, organization, or even for your out-of-town guests. Wonderful inter-tribal education. Start in the Northeast Woodlands and "travel" across the country to end in the Northwest. Don't miss their annual Powwow the second weekend in July! The Museum Store is stocked with books, toys, jewelry, herbals, local and Native crafts, and much more. A true gem "in the middle of nowhere"!!

An amazing place to learn about a culture that has been around for a long time and is still here today. The artifacts are amazing, as well as the Medicine Woods that have many plants and trees that are integral to the native culture.

A great place to go to learn more about Indian culture, but kids will go through the museum pretty quickly, so if it's a long drive, it's best to go when they have a special event going on, like maple sugaring demonstrations, Pow Wow, etc. The little forest is also only a short walk, though when we went we also climbed up the nearby hill. Coming to the Pow Wow was a wonderful experience for my daughter, who still talks about it 4 years later.
