  • It's worth the drive to the outskirts of Walnut Creek to visit the Borges ranch. There are wonderful trails to explore. Be sure to have a map - or check in with the ranger for suggestions. 
  • A wonderful excursion for family and friends. The former cattle ranch stands as it did at the turn of the last century. Complete with chickens, roosters, goats, and sheep, you can walk around with the animals and even pet them. If you love hiking this is a great spot. Trails offer breathtaking views of rolling hills. Its free! In winter months, Ranger Bruce opens the blacksmithing shed and you can make a hook for 5 bucks! (by appointment only)
  • A great place to take little kids to pet chickens, goats, and pigs. There you can see Old Farm Equipment and on special days they have demonstrations of blacksmith shops another old farm equipment. The historic house is it great to peek inside the windows.
  • They always have animals there so it's a great place to take kids. There is also a lot of old farm machines. Great place for hiking or hanging out with the animals!
