  • What a find. Tucked up on the 2nd floor of the original building near the business center. It is a terrific sequence of paintings telling the story of Marcus Whitman and the history of the area. It's ...  more »
  • We came across these paintings by chance. I would never call this an art gallery, but paintings to tell the story of the Whitman family in a graphic novel sort of style. It did inspire us to look into...  more »
  • We only found this art gallery on the second floor of the Whitman hotel because it was recommended to us by the owner of the bed and breakfast where we were staying. The paintings are in a sequence an...  more »

  • Recently my husband and I stayed in the newer wing of the hotel vs in the original tower rooms like our previous visit. It was a nice room but more cramped than the tower rooms and much noisier. Too easy to hear hallway noise as other guests came and went. I now know why they are less expensive. Enjoyed the lounge during happy hour for a drink and appetizers. We also appreciated the complimentary breakfast. Service was top notch throughout our visit. Next visit we'll skip the newer wing room in exchange for a tower room for a five star experience!
  • This historic hotel is amazing. If you're planning a stay, try to stay in the tower. The rooms are amazing and the staff is great. The staff helped me out the last time I stayed there. The person who had been in the room, must have doused the room in perfume before they left. It was so bad it gave me a headache almost instantly. I was embarrassed to ask to be moved. The staff at the desk was very gracious in moving us to another room. Thanks again for a great stay!
  • Beautiful old property, very gracious, exemplary service. The rooms in the old tower have a definite romantic charm, but the walls are thin, and we found the traffic noise, and the noise from the ventilation system on the roof below us, to be intrusive. The rooms in the newer west wing, while definitely not as charming, are much more modern and spacious, and also much more quiet. The food is superb, the bar is a great place to hang out and get information on the current hot winery tasting rooms, the lobby reeks of class and elegance of days gone by. A wonderful place to book a room while wine tasting in Walla Walla!
  • Nice Enough - have stayed there in the past. The premier historic hotel in Walla Walla. It has a nice restaurant and bar area plus is conveniently accessible to all the downtown restaurants and tasting rooms for local wineries. The staff are all very nice and welcoming. I had some annoyances on this stay - my room keys malfunctioned on both days of my stay; there was trash in the bathroom wastebasket and I went to the vending machine on my floor to purchase a canned soft drink and it came out at room temperature. These are, as they say, First World Problems. Bed was great, nice large-screen TV and mini-fridge in the room.
  • This is a great location and nice hotel. The staff was very helpful and friendly! The morning breakfast needs some serious help as it lacks anything that tastes good...
