  • The BEST trained and kept horses I have ever risen on a vacation. In addition, the owner and our guide was a skilled, confident and gracious hostess. Her explanations to the riders, including my 7 & 9...  more »

  • This was an excellent outing with experienced guides. They promoted autonomy by letting us spread out and explore a bit within reason. It was a great safe and enjoyable venture for my 6 and 7 year old children as well. The guides took their time in assuring the children were prepared to lead the horses they were riding. Overall 2 thumbs up and we will send other customers their way.
  • Best place to ride horses if you want to be in control of your experience. No nose to tail, friendly staff, and great horses.
  • My family are horse people and we wanted to have a Hawaiian horseback riding experience. We had a very knowledgeable guide and very well trained horses. We were encouraged to not ride nose to tail, but stay on our own paths. The views were spectacular and our ride exceeded all our expectations! We will definitely come back the next time we visit the Big Island!
  • Went on an early morning ride with my wife. It was just us and the guides. Great scenery and they let you roam around a bit which is fun and not the typical vacation horseback riding experience. Guides were very helpful and friendly. Great views of rolling hills at the base of Mauna Kea with horses and cattle all around.
  • I spent 5 days in Maui and a few days over on the Big Island and did tons of stuff on both Islands from snorkaling, ziplining, surfing, etc., and Dahana Ranch was byfar the ablsolute best thing about our vacation. i have alwaise wanted to ride a horse but i am a big guy and weigh about 270. Most places have a max weight of about 220 to 250lb's. At Dahana teh max weight is 300lb's and believe me the horses can handle it. Not only did i get a great lesson in riding horses, I got to drive cattle! That was insanly cool and so much fun. If you expecting nose to tail trail riding then this is not the place for you. They take you into thiere huge property (somthing like 100 acres) and they give you a destination and dont care how you get thier. Anything from cruzing along at a slow walk to an all out run, they teach you how. We had Pike (I hope I am not buchering his name) as a guide and he is the absolute coolest guy. I can go on forever about this place but do yourself a favore and check it out. P.S. - I also think it is the most afordable on the island.
