  • Make sure not to show up late to the tram tour or you'll miss it and need to be rescheduled for a later time. We didn't mind that so much. It gave us time to visit the beautiful grounds and feed...

  • The tram tour was about 30 minutes. Would be a better walking tour versus a tram as it really is a short distance. Was very fun to see everything they grow and hear the history of how many of the plants and vegetation made its way to the island. The store was nice and decently priced. The banana candy was amazing. One of our favorite treats when we visit Hawaii is apple bananas. Definitely pick some of these treats up before you leave!
  • We visited The Mill House for dinner, and while the food was worth the price, the service was horrible. We ordered an appetizer long before our entrees, but the entrees were brought first. When the entrees arrived, we had to ask about our appetizer, as well as a cocktail that I ordered. The server came out and informed us that the appetizer mix-up was due to a miscommunication. This would have been fine; however, once the appetizer was finally delivered (well after we finished our entrees), the server told us that the cocktail would still take a while, because there was only one bartender working that night. Our water was also never refilled, even though they sat close to empty for half of the dinner. I asked to just cancel the cocktail, and after that, the server stopped attempting to salvage the situation. She still never refilled our waters, and we had to ask her while she passed us to bring the bill. I'm not sure if desert is served here, but if it is, our server neglected to offer the dessert menu as well. In other words, it seemed like she was ignoring us as soon as she could tell that we were getting a little bit irritated. Overall, these kinds of mistakes would be acceptable at a cheaper restaurant, but when paying these prices, I recommend going elsewhere. Their management and training process should not even allow these kinds of issues to arise (and based on other reviews, this doesn't seem to be a rare occurrence). This was the first nice restaurant we chose to visit for our honeymoon in Maui, and it looks like we chose wrong. The rest of the island's been great though :) Three stars just because the food was so good, and it would be a disservice to their other staff and the lovely atmosphere to only give 1 star (which our server deserved).
  • Fun place to visit. We like buying the bird and duck food in the gift shop and spending a relaxing afternoon walking around the pond and feeding the animals. And as a bonus you will see at least 5 turtles but usually more swimming around and even eating the duck food. Free parking. Cheap and good break from the beaches. Bring your own lunch and picknic on the grass lawn near the pond🙂👍
  • We recently visited with our children before our flight. Beautiful grounds and our kids LOVED the machinery that is incorporated into the landscaping. It was a great clean escape from the heat and a nice way to get wiggles out before flying for an extended period of time. Our 7yo was really looking forward to learning how to husk a coconut which was our reason behind booking the tram ride. While informative, the tram tour was a little lack luster. For the price, we expected more.... at least some samples of coconut or the opportunity to purchase coconuts at the end but they were sold out at the shop at 12pm. Our kids were more excited by the pond and touring the grounds on their feet. I would not suggest the tram ride for younger kids looking for any sort of excitement or adventure.
  • Staff were friendly and it was a fascinating and beautiful tour. We loved meeting the incredibly talented artist Dale who showed us his work, as well as the staff who showed us how to peel a coconut. It was an informative and enjoyable tour. The farmer's market at the end was absolutely delightful as well. I highly recommend doing this tour.
