  • We rented a double kayak from this place to go to Secret Falls and the Fern Grotto. While it was nice to put the kayak in the water right from the Village, the $60 price to rent a double kayak was way...  more »
  • I did not want to paddle on the river because of my back so I went there for the opportunity to walk and take pictures of the village and river. It is a nice, quiet and relaxing area. In the early mor...  more »

  • A perfect place to launch from everything is close by! Don't think you need to be a super athlete just relax and let your bride row while you chill in the back of the canoe! (It is in the calm part of the river) You can be adventurous and head to the ocean but not in it. The secret falls were amazing and the hike wasn't bad. Getting to the falls is a 40+ minute hike. Pick up a walking stick where you ground your canoe. You will need water and good water shoes because you walk through four water features to get to the falls. Children could have a hard time especially crossing the first river and you might want to be in ok shape...The staff really is laid back. It really has the Kauai feel!
  • Amazing experience, highly recommended by my wife and me. Like other reviewers mentioned, you launch close by (which is amazing when you're canoeing back in rain & current). The secret falls are a gift to everyone and even if you're not really adventurous, you feel safe enough to make the journey (we saw a mother carrying her baby with and 5 year olds on the trail- you can do it). And the service is great- say hi to Ben and Dan :)
  • This is the spot to rent a canoe to head to fern grotto or secret falls. Though it shortens the canoe portion, depending on the winds coming back down the wailua river on a heavily trafficked canoe lane can be tricky and exhausting. The village is just a few minutes away from the fork, where you bare right, but remember to bare left after that, as there is a false landing. Visit the crew at the authentic hawaiian village and be greeted with a relaxed vibe. I recommend this place highly. Bonus: you get free water bag to borrow and they have cheap water shoes for sale.
  • The huts are pretty cute with some printed info to read over. The canoe rentals are reasonably priced for the area and it's a short paddle to the trail, however, the trail is fairly lengthy so you should be prepared for a hike over uneven and wet terrain. The falls and all the sights along the way are TOTALLY worth your time!! The hike takes quite a while, at least 3 hours to get there and back so the last canoe leaves at 3pm so they can close at 5pm.
  • This was a great place for us to rent kayaks/canoes because it is right on the river and closer to the sacred falls hike and fern grotto since we had our 75 year old mom with us. We didn't take a guided tour so we could spend as much time as we wanted. We had a blast! The old Hawaiian villiage was beautiful, well kept and fun to explore as well! That day was a highlight of our trip!
