  • Firefly Distillery is a beautiful drive through James Island, SC. Tasting was $6.00 to taste 6 liquors - hard to decide as it is a long and flavorful list. Our tasting bar was very crowded with a birt...  more »

  • This is a fun place off the beaten path. Even the drive there was lovely. We did the liquor tasting. Now I've seen their brand in stores all the time but never got it, but we got lost and saw their sign and went to take a look and glad we did. They have a line of liquors in southern Classic flavors like pecan pie, coconut cake and banana pudding are only sold locally. Their distillery also sells versions of their spirits like their southern lemonade and mint tea vodka were lovely. Tasting does cost you 6$ but it gets a try of 6 things. They have a self guided tour of the grounds, good food stand, places to lounge and drink wine with friends and friendly staff. Was worth the drive. Probably a good thing their lemonade vodka isn't sold in stores or id buy it by the case. Note: their tea is made from tea leaves from the Charelston tea plantation on the island and they are American made. Great job guys!
  • While Charleston these past few days we had looked into visiting your distillery mostly because my wife is an avid whiskey person. We checked over your webpage on Thursday and Friday including the shopping area and decided to go on Saturday. Saturday morning we saw on the news that $10 prepayment would get us in, $20 at gate. We searched in vain on the website well before opening time and found no such offer, in fact there was not much real info about the festival at all under "happenings", but decided to head out that way anyway. When we were at the gate we asked one of the money takers if the $20 included a free tasting and were told yes. She gave us a brochure with very little pertinent info about the festival for first time people. We then stood in line for about 10 minutes and went into the tasting room only to find out we needed a ticket! Well that of course was an additional $12, although the woman selling tickets did offer us one free wine tasting ticket which we turned down as we came to taste whiskey. Disappointed we went into the store so my wife could buy a t shirt. Surprisingly the shirt was $10 more than it was on line! We are upset by now so we talked to the woman who had offered us a free wine ticket and she did honor the online price. We then left. Much of our troubles could have been avoided with some info on the website or the very least at the gate, we could have came on Friday had we known. We missed out on tasting your product and possibly buying it, instead we paid $20 for a good band and someone to show us where to park. Thanks Ed and Annette
  • We really enjoyed the wine tasting room. Wines were good. The real fun happened over at Firefly tasting. Charlotte was the BEST at serving up the samples, giving us tips & info about their products & on how to mix &/or serve them. This is seriously a place you do NOT want to miss during your visit to the Charleston area.
  • My husband and I had a great time at Firefly Distilleries. It is such a nice place to visit. It is just down the street from the Tea Company and you can totally do both in one visit. They have a little tour and you can either have the Firefly distillery tour or their wine tour. It is too much alcohol to have both. But they also have a lovely little place to get lunch and then an outdoor place to eat it. Delightful! If you can do this, especially in the same day as the plantation tea company, do so. What a great side trip from the lovely city of Charleston!
  • Went there as per wife's suggestion and it was wonderful. The wine and liquor tasting was fun! The wines are delicious!!!! The vodka so good I brought a bottle to Puerto Rico!
