  • Watch the sun set over the mountains while enjoying a nice evening walk with Arizona history. Easy walk for everyone in the family, including the dogs!  more »
  • There are all kinds of hiking trails, picnic tables. Also a full hook-up RV park that is very pleasant to stay in. The White Tanks Library is right at the entrance to the park which is a wealth of inf...  more »
  • Don't get me wrong, it's a very nice hike! But this last time I went I was a little disappointed. They have paved quite a bit of the trail now, which to me makes it seem more of a walk than a hike. No...  more »

  • I absolutely LOVED visiting the White Tank Mountain Regional Park. It is kept very clean. At the entrance there is a very interesting museum that talked about history. There are so many different trails to hike and things to see. I walked the waterfall trail it was recently paved half way to the top so it makes it easier, it is a very busy trail but if you want solitude there are trails for that. There are multiple restrooms that are kept clean also. There are also trails that you can ride horses down. The views are simply breathtaking and I can't wait to go again! Anyone who is thinking about going definitely should, it's a bucket list item!!!
  • I had so much fun here! We did the part Mule Deer trail and turned around just before making it to the Nature Center. The trail itself was pretty easy for us (late 20s hardly ever exercise), though we were pretty tired by the time we got back. There's a fantastic view at the top of the trail with some benches to sit and enjoy the scenery, you can even see the city of Phoenix from the trail. I will absolutely be back with my friends!
  • We 'discovered' White Tank Regional Park in 2016 when we couldn't find camp site spaces at other State or Regional parks in the Phoenix area, and I'm SO glad we did! The hiking trails there are fabulous. So many nice long trails and at the right time, you can be a couple miles out into the desert and come across no one else. Warning: If you like solitude, do not do the Waterfall Trail on a weekend when it swarms with locals and you have to wait your turn to actually see the pools.
  • Wow. I’ve never actually hiked the White Tanks until a couple of weeks ago. The park is very well kept. Clean, bathrooms, nice picnic areas, kids playground places. The Waterfall trail is paved for a good portion. The Petroglyphs are fun to look at. Some of the trails are your typical AZ scenery, but the actual waterfall spot was simply incredible. I had fun and it was pretty, but actually getting right up where the waterfall area is, is totally worth this very short hike. I recommend it to anyone. The trail that is paved is very wide and I could’ve brought a large stroller if I wanted. Even the trail after the pavement ends is very smooth. Just a couple low incline climbs. Overall we had a fantastic time.
  • We took the easy hike on a partially paved path since we had three tiny people with us. Saw a rattlesnake while driving to the path and a some desert rodent while walking, as well as plenty of different types of cacti. Many different trails around with varying degrees of difficulty. The visitor center/gift shop shares a building with the library there and is lovely. They have two different types of live scorpions caged there for visitors to see, and even provide a blacklight flashlight to make them glow. There is also a little "friends of the library" store selling used books and movies there, but that section is cash only and there is no ATM around, nor can the gift shop give cash back on purchases.
