This is a large antique right on the museum grounds. We normally do one day at the museum and one day at the antique mall. We like this mall but somethings seem alittle pricey compared to normal. The ... more »
This place is incredible. My family and I went there expecting to leave within an hour maybe two at most. Yeah no it was a full day thing. With it being a full day thing, we didn’t get to see everything. There’s sooooo much stuff. It’s insane. Anything you can think of is there plus some. Malls 1, 2, and 3 are all connected by walkways. There’s different levels for the malls. If you find something in a certain mall you have to pay for it there. For example, if you want something you found in a booth in mall 1, you can’t go to mall 2 without paying for it. Not something I had a problem with though. There aren’t long lines. We didn’t even have to wait at all most of the time and if we did it wasn’t long. They have plenty of paper to wrap up fragile items you want to buy to protect them and they wrap it for you. If you buy something in one mall and then plan on going to another, I do recommend placing the items in your car just because it’ll be less of a hassle and if you buy more it’ll be harder to carry it all. I don’t recommend having young kids here due to a few reasons. With it having a lot of stuff, it’s not necessarily easy to keep an eye on them if they decide to just wonder off. It is an older building meaning some of the floors can shake easily. The reason I mention that is there are fragile stuff and some parts of it will even have signs telling you that if you do have a kid, you have to make sure they behave and there’s no running around. This isn’t to say you can’t have kids. It’s just simply suggesting that if they can’t behave good, it may not be the best place to take them. You will find items that kids will enjoy getting, say a teddy bear or some toys, but a lot of the stuff won’t be interesting to them, such as jewelry, coins, kitchen stuff such as glasses, plates, cooking items, etc. It’s not called an antique mall just because they felt like it. There is a really nice museum with cars. That does pay to go in. I didn’t have time to go in so I don’t know how much it costs or how long it would take but if it’s anything like the mall (which is free to enter) there’s plenty to look at. There is a place to eat there whether you just want a simple snack or if you want to take a lunch break. I recommend visiting here.
This is a FUN auto museum. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5, is that I question paying to get into a car sales lot. But there are LOTS of muscle cars and Hollywood cars and many more things that kids will enjoy. We were there on a very nasty winter’s day and I look forward to going back in better weather.
I love going there and looking at all the antiques. Christmas is my favorite time of year. I found a really neat light up Santa wreath from the 40's this last weekend. My little granddaughter gets excited everytime she sees it. She can't talk yet, so she points and makes noises. Who knows, maybe her first word will be Santa!
My family and friends visited the mall on January 14th. We have been here a few times before and had friends in from out of town and decided to take them. While the overall experience was pleasant, I'm rating a 1 based on how rude the staff treated us. It was nearing closing and we wanted to make a purchase from one of the locked booths. We couldn't find anyone on the mall floor so we went up to the front and waited in line at the register to ask if they could unlock it. We waited a good ten minutes as there were several customers checking out. It wasn't organized and was very confusing, especially to the staff, as to who was next in line, etc. When we finally got up there the manager rang my friend up and I asked for someone to unlock the specific booth. I believe it was a manager who was ringing my friend up and she said sure that she'd grab a key. She was obviously busy with other things and left to go to another building, forgetting about us. Okay, no problem, we waited. I was understanding as it was busy and around closing time. We waited another 5 minutes for someone else to acknowledge us. When I asked for a key, the woman started lecturing us about being so close to closing time. I get it, you're volunteering because you have a booth here and you want to go home. But I work in retail as well and that's something you just have to deal with, sorry! When we went to unlock the cabinet there was miraculously another staff member there giving my son a lecture about the time. I told the man I knew what time it was and he went away. The woman proceeded to unlock the cabinet but hesitantly, asking which one we wanted. I told her we wanted to look at a few as the prices were facing towards the back and we weren't sure which we wanted. She opened the cabinet and as I was showing them to my son asking which ones he liked she again told us to hurry. Finally I just said forget it. I mean honestly it was like 10 to close still and the rest of the line in front had died down by this point. We didn't end up purchasing anything bc she was just so rude. I feel bad for that vendor that we didn't buy from. I know it wasn't that vendor's fault but I just couldn't take it anymore. We won't be back. We'll be purchasing our custom Lego minifigures on eBay where you can look as long as you want and pay less money! I would've paid more for the experience but the customer service was just awful.
So much to see. Each time I go the staff is kind and very helpful.
