  • Nice overnight camping spot. Beautiful canyon carved by the Pecos River. Very peaceful and restful location. Limited services nearby, so bring everything you might need. The lower campground is more crowded, but is adjacent to the river. The upper campground offers more views and solitude, but can be windier. This is a great shoulder season overnight stop. There is very limited, though beautiful, hiking in the park.
  • It’s so beautiful. We love staying here. It’s totally worth the long wait to make reservations.
  • By far one of our family favorites. It's beautifully secluded in a canyon valley with a steady and wide flowing river. Has covered picnic areas, potable water spouts, bathrooms near all sites, a shower area and many trails to hike and fish. A must see for the New Mexico true
  • This is a great state park. Out of the way and very senic. We pulled our 24 ft travel trailer and went without a reservation. While the best sites require a reservation it can be done without. We stayed in site 10A and while it had electric hook up the water spigot was too far away to reach with the 75 ft of hose I had. I really needed at least another 50 ft. Sites 7A and 9A are very nice and have electricity and water within reason but you will need a splitter for you water as it is shared between two sites. These two sites must be reserved. We we're there at the end of March and the first of April and felt like we had the park to ourselves. The weather was a little ruff at first as our first day started with rain, changed to sleet and eventually snow but melted as fast as it fell. Coldest morning was 31 degrees but the days warmed into the upper 50's and low 60's. We will be going back but with reservation. Reservation's must be made in advance as they are booked almost all summer. Plan way ahead of you trip to reserve a site.
  • Great campsites right next to the river. Picnic sites at the top of a hike.
