  • In town for a wedding and had a few hours to kill and found this magic oasis in the suburban sprawl. Good paths and side trails that one could simply quietly relax. It appears as if they work hard for...  read more »
  • I've visited many botanical gardens in my travels, and Meadowlark is IMO not the best I've seen. It looks more like a well-maintained park, with paved trails and lots of trees. We were there this morn...  read more »
  • Like any place that is special due to its serenity and calm beauty, one is reluctant to share it with others. This place is wonderful and a great place for reflection and nice meaningful conversations...  read more »
  • In all my years living in Vienna, I've been meaning to visit Meadowlark Botanical Gardens mostly because I'm a sucker for botanical gardens and also because Meadowlark is well-known for its Winter Walk of Lights. But I'm really glad I saved a trip here until Father's Day. It's $5/person for those between 18-54 and $2.50/person for both those between 7-17 and 55+. You can purchase an annual pass for $35/single and $45/family. The fees are totally worth this gem of a garden. The entire garden is very tranquil and beautiful, a photographer's dream! We walked from the visitor center and took the path past the rock, trough, and health gardens to Lake Gardiner. We walked around the lake, past the Toddler's Tea Garden, and saw some turtles basking in the sun. Then, we walked to Lake Caroline with the gazebo and observed some koi and turtles swimming around. Finally, we walked to the Korean Bell Garden, a gift from Virginia's sister city Gyeonggi province and a symbol of friendship between Virginia and South Korea. There are tons of plants and flowers here. Daylilies were especially prominent when we visited. Depending on the time of the year, you can see a variety of other colorful blooms like peonies, tulips, azaleas, and more. We saw some cherry blossom trees near Lake Gardiner, so this is a great place to see cherry blossoms in the spring. There's plenty of wildlife too. We saw a lot of koi, turtles, and geese, and we heard frogs croaking too. Be careful and watch where you step! Let's just say that there are a lot of geese that walk around here. Between the 100 acres of lakes, trees, blooming flowers, gazebo, walking trails, ornamental gardens, and walking trails, this is the perfect outdoor getaway in your backyard neighborhood. It's ideal for a stroll, get together with friends and family, portraits, or even a wedding (which they do offer at the Atrium at Meadowlark). Absolutely stunning! I would purchase an annual pass just to walk around this park every day. Meadowlark is definitely a must-see attraction in Fairfax County!
  • Really enjoyed our afternoon at Meadowlark. I don't normally give 5 stars as it implies perfection and nothing is ever perfect. But I can't imagine much that could be done to improve this park.
  • Had no idea this existed until a friend suggested meeting there - what a heavenly oasis in the middle of Vienna! Well worth the admission fee to roam the grounds, see native and non-native plantings - the Pagoda alone was worth the visit.
  • Absolutely stunning gardens. The flowers are simply beautiful. It's a wonderful place just to walk around and take in the beauty.
  • Overall a great experience and beautiful scenery. However, the reason for a 3 star rating is simple. For large events, like my recent wedding, some members of the staff seemed very disorganized and distracted. There was an obvious attempt to focus on my event (that had already been paid for in full), but the staff requires more assistance so as to provide appropriate levels of attention to those customers who paid for quality service.
