  • I would love to stay in this beautiful home. We were lucky the day we were there as the current owner was on site and could give us additional history about furniture and all in the house. There is a ...  more »
  • It's a lovely Antebellum house that doubles as a B&B, so don't be surprised to find tourists peeking into your roped off room before you take possession. The location is great with the old Courthouse ...  more »
  • We thought more find a type B & B; rather, we had the impression of being at the hotel with this rating. We give you the keys and the room numbers. Breakfast plentiful, well prepared and served at the table can make somewhat bad uncomfortable given the context of Louisiana and its history.

  • This is a long delayed travel review. My wife and I visited Anchuca over 10 years ago and I promised that I would write a review. How about that for procrastination. The thing that kept nagging me was that I had a wonderful time, yet I had never fulfilled my promise. To start with, when we arrived we had rented one of the large rooms on the 2nd floor along with a separate room for our then teenage son. The owners let us know that we would be the only ones there that weekend, so we had the run of the house. After we had toured Vicksburg during the day, we returned to an absolutely fantastic meal. The owners were outstanding host and cooks. Later on my son went to his room to listen to music and talk to friends. We decided to go downstairs and check out the den. Almost everything was period specific including the baby grand piano. My wife is an excellent piano player, so I relaxed in one of the super comfortable chairs while she played tunes on the piano. As I was relaxing and my mind was drifting, I almost felt as if I was back in time. What a wonderful thing.... then a sound from this century rang out. My teenage daughter, who had stayed at home to attend some school functions, reached out to me from another century to disturb my peace. The mood was broken, but the experience has lingered with me. The next morning we experienced a wonderful breakfast. I really can't think of a better experience at a bed and breakfast. It was amazing. You really need to try this out.
  • Beautiful home to tour and also have a charming lunch. We went on Sunday afternoon. There were several groups of ladies and only a couple of men .. but the special menu had choices that both would like. Perfect portions and pleasant atmosphere.
  • Great place to stay. Awesome food, history and lovely staff. We stayed in the best room. I'm in love.
  • Really neat historic Victorian style house. I love history and thrive on it and there's alot here and also has a bed and breakfast. Jefferson Davis also lived in this house for a period of time. Really cozy and laid back place, and the people there were very nice and informative on info on the house, vicksburg ,and civil war.
  • Rooms and grounds in really nice shape. They take good care of the facility. Food has lost a bit over last visit. Still think it's likely your best option in the city overall.
