  • We arrived at Anchuca after tour hours but a very kind staff gave us a tour anyway. Granted it was mainly by video, we were allowed to walk around and look at the place by ourselves afterwards. All in all, it was very interesting and worth the stop no matter how you look at it.
  • One of the best meals I have had. Multi course including an incredibly delicious bacon wrapped water chestnuts and wonderful shrimp and grits. The home is amazing as well.
  • Starts off with 6 minute video. Then walk through house. Very elegant.
  • This is a long delayed travel review. My wife and I visited Anchuca over 10 years ago and I promised that I would write a review. How about that for procrastination. The thing that kept nagging me was that I had a wonderful time, yet I had never fulfilled my promise. To start with, when we arrived we had rented one of the large rooms on the 2nd floor along with a separate room for our then teenage son. The owners let us know that we would be the only ones there that weekend, so we had the run of the house. After we had toured Vicksburg during the day, we returned to an absolutely fantastic meal. The owners were outstanding host and cooks. Later on my son went to his room to listen to music and talk to friends. We decided to go downstairs and check out the den. Almost everything was period specific including the baby grand piano. My wife is an excellent piano player, so I relaxed in one of the super comfortable chairs while she played tunes on the piano. As I was relaxing and my mind was drifting, I almost felt as if I was back in time. What a wonderful thing.... then a sound from this century rang out. My teenage daughter, who had stayed at home to attend some school functions, reached out to me from another century to disturb my peace. The mood was broken, but the experience has lingered with me. The next morning we experienced a wonderful breakfast. I really can't think of a better experience at a bed and breakfast. It was amazing. You really need to try this out.
  • The people who work here are all lovely and made our stay really enjoyable. Interesting history to find out about too.
