  • Lake Champlain's military history is very interesting. But the best part about our visit to this fun museum was the glass shop, where people can make glass items themselves.  more »
  • Even though this is a small out of the way museum, I enjoy my visit thoroughly. The drive out is also very nice and I enjoyed the scenery. There is a nice visitor center where you can pick up a...  more »
  • We enjoyed reading the history, seeing the exhibits, and walking out on the dock; the scenery is, indeed, gorgeous in October. If you're in the area, it's well worth an hour or so; but I wouldn't...  more »
  • This is a wonderful little museum with s big story to tell. What went on in the Champlain Valley that was so decisive to the successful end of the revolutionary war ? One of the best museums for and of the battles on the lake that delayed the British enough to turn the tides for the colonies. The unsuccessful invasion of Canada and another view of Benedict Arnold are presented as well. Also: Boating history of the lake from early native canoes, thru colonial time to more modern transportation. And: Resources and more in an extensive bookstore.
  • We go to the Museum once a year while we are at the Basin Harbor Club. The gift shop is great for books about the lake, Crafts and local history.
  • A nice museum. Lots of local small craft, a building full of antique outboard motors and a Reproduction of Benedct Arnold's Revolutionary War gunboat "Philadelphia". Definitely worth a visit if you're into maritime history!
  • My wife and I love the maritime museum! The exhibits are interesting and interactive and the staff are knowledgeable and excited to share our local maritime history!
  • Such a great place to visit, learned so much and the kids had a great time!
