Venice Municipal Beach, Venice

At Venice Municipal Beach--reputedly the shark-tooth capital of the world--take time to swim, go scuba diving, relax on the broad expanse of sand, and beachcomb for fossilized shark's teeth that make the beach famous. From the shore or the boardwalk, watch for bottlenose dolphins frolicking in the water. If you are a diver, paddle out 400 m (0.25 mi) to explore the coral reef. Stroll along the Venice pier, where you can fish, take in the view, or grab a hot dog from the bait shop. For a more substantial meal, head to Sharky's on the pier for shrimp and chips or lobster-stuffed flounder. Very nice beach. Good parking area--easy access to the beach. We found lots of shells and enjoyed the warm Gulf water.
Just perfect end to a glorious day with a stroll along this truly unspoilt beach. Very peaceful and ultra clean.
