Beautiful view! Friendly bar staff great frozen drinks . Relax and enjoined everyone from other travelers to the locals
Been there a few times because of the atmosphere. That is great! But every time we eat in the main dining area the food has been disappointing; especially for the price. We used to love to go also to ... read more »
We have visited several times over the years and are always delighted - however the latest visit was a a little spoilt by a most poker faced abrupt server ever - she was not friendly - shame as I did ... read more »
Really like the place. Great atmosphere, good food, a bit pricey. Here's the problem: no bar seats while waiting. Not many places to sit but the real complaint is this. Mid-afternoon. Got a seat at the bar, ordered a draft beer from a bartender who really needed a personality, got the beer in a PLASTIC CUP ( important). Sat quietly, got a phone call, decided to have another small PLASTIC CUP of beer. So I'm ready to leave. I asked the "bartender" for my bill. He said "$12". Be advised: There are no signs that give beer prices. I will NEVER buy another one of their overpriced crappy drafts again. Maybe they should give the bartender a flyswatter to get rid of the flies that are crawling over their lemons and limes.
About 13-14 years ago, I used to fly into Venice while I was in flight training to enjoy the wonderful food, especially the fresh homemade bread. Much has changed since then. My family, wife and three little ones, flew in to Venice on Labor Day. After arriving at Suncoast Air Center, where we received very poor service from the FBO, we were told there was no shuttle service today from the airport to Sharky's and told that the walk was about a mile. It was definitely over a mile. So while on the walk with the kids in tow, I called Sharky's and explained that we had just arrived and being that they didn't have the shuttle up and running, if we could be placed on the wait list so that when we get there, we might be able to get seated. We were told that they couldn't do anything for us. We elected to continue as we had already been on the walk and were half way there. Upon arrival, I could see that much has changed, and I believe not all for the good either. The place has been very extremely commercialized from what it used to be. The food was nothing to write home about, and some of the staff definitely lack good customer service skills. I can definitely say I miss the old Sharkys. It seems that as they got popular, they took away the good ole home feel that they used to have. The beach was beautiful, as well as the pier, but I wouldn't go back to spend that kind of money on the food, only to deal with poor customer service. No thanks!
Definitely need to visit when in town. Great views. Great good. Friendly and helpful staff. Drinks are awesome too.
This place is supper busy, ugly, dirty with smelly grows carpet and smells like overused canola oil that use for deep frying. The food have no flavor and over cooked, descusting . Shrimps and chicken tastes as eraser. Waitresses with fake smiles, dressed ugly and unprofessional, their hair looks like they been running a marrafon. People whose been cooking looked that they work part time at McDonald's. Lastly, this place is over over price for no reason. Never never coming back.
Always great food (I recommend the grouper wrap). Great atmosphere, right on Venice Beach. Friendly staff, fast service even on a Friday night. Live band on weekends. I recommend making reservations as this is a hot spot especially on weekends.
