  • Great photo opportunity here, with the American flag through the arch. Better with no people though you may have to wait a while!  more »

  • Love to go every evening. Beautiful place with so much greenery all around. Memorial stands tall adding beauty to the place. Best place to watch sunrise also. Parking is available behind the monument. Several miles of walking trails around the park.
  • Lovely place.. Nice for kids too to make them feel a bit of nations history. And yes, good for selfie and family pics. There are many other spots also in Valley forge national historic park to visit. Like Washington's headquarter.
  • Great place to visit to reflect upon rich American history. Recommend if first visit to start with visitor center film (every 30 mins). Although Park open until sunset, visitor center closes at 6. Plan on a couple of hours, so you don't feel rushed, and enjoy the nice paved running/walking trail, or even rent a bike. Plenty of places to picnic, but don't forget to bring plenty of water. Note: Best restroom stops are at Visitor Center and near Washington home (opposite sides of trail loop). Also, a trolley tour is available every 2 hours, with tickets needed - first come first served. I didn't utilize, so don't know quality or pricing for trolley.
  • The memorial is a very moving and beautiful place that honors the soldiers and people who wintered at Valley Forge. It's on the driving route through the park so visitors will not miss it. Make sure to stop and take a look at it's incredible beauty before moving to the next spot; you'll be glad you did.
  • This is a great site to visit. It is part of Valley Forge National Park. A lot of history in this area is summed up with this monument. Parking is nearby and the park is free to visit. If you can afford to do so, I recommend the guided tours of the entire park. Guided tours can be done via walking or driving. (We did the walking tour and the route, which didn't cover everything, was 7 miles.)
