  • I was disappointed in the house itself. It is big, but not grand. It was nice however to hear about the generations of the family that have lived there and farmed the sugar cane fields.  more »

  • Highly recommend a trip there. A working sugar plantation. Great history. Beautiful place.
  • Great tour. Cool facts about the history of the property
  • Great tour. Lots of family and local history
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. True, it is not Greek Revival as its neighbor Oak Alley is, but it is a beautiful example of the transition between the Raised Creole & Greek Revival. One of the fascinating features of this home is the family involvement. The family is restoring the plantation & serving as tour guides. You get a real feel for the history of the home through the knowledge of your guide. I would recommend visiting St. Joseph Plantation. I would love to have a restaurant on the grounds, maybe one day.
  • Wow! It's amazing the history of this place and descendants still run it today! Thanks for the great tour and experience! Came in April, loved the weather.
