Back River Beach, Tybee Island

Categories: Beaches, Nature & Parks, Outdoor Activities
Inspirock Rating:
4.5/5 based on 30 reviews on the web
Back River Beach provides great kayaking opportunities while offering scenic views of the marsh and the smaller island. The beach is not as accessible as oceanfront beaches and its waters are not ideal for swimming due to the strong currents and the lack of lifeguards. Walk on the soft sand, fish from the wooden pier, and try to spot dolphins. At low tides, the strip of wet sand separating land and sea lures shell seekers. Don’t miss the sunset.
