  • We drove through the park to check out the campground. The sites looked awesome, in the woods with plenty of room, trees between each site for privacy, and all of the sites are a short walk from the b...  read more »
  • A nice place to visit. Not over populated by people fresh air and the wonderful smell of the pine and cedar. The beach is clean and fresh!
  • We have two in our group who have difficulty walking very far, so it was nice to have parking areas so close to the lake. We did walk the wooden path by the lighthouse without any trouble. The parking...  read more »
  • I would give this place no stars if I had the option. The harsh chemicals from the nuclear power plant make it hard to breathe, swimming in the lake is insane. All the people are emaciated and very ill looking. After spending A little time here you will realize it's not just old people you are looking at. EVERYONe looks ill even children. The trees are dying wilted all around the lake and Sand has so much black in it from he chemicals of the lake. At first glance this place may seem normal but to anyone with kean since of their surroundings you will not stay very long but run for hills ! You will end up looking like these people and moving as slowly as them if you stay here and swim in their lake. Would make a great twilight zone episode !
  • Came here for the doggy beach and we loved it. Staff was helpful, and the place was clean. The main building had a little bit of history and info that I enjoyed looking at. It did not cost much. There was a little bit of a walk to the beach, so be ready for that. We will go again!
  • Let me start by saying the 2 stars is not due to the grounds or the forest or the beach at all, all those deserve 5 stars. This place is majestic and has great beaches. However the sheriff came by our site and warned us that after 10 is quiet time and there is to be only quiet inside voice volume. We adhered to his request and then he came back about 10 minutes later and FREAKED out and said that we cannot be talking at all and if he can hear us from the path (which was 10 feet away) then we are being too loud. we were whispering. He threatened us with getting arrested and kicked out of the park, I kid you not this is a true story. His name was officer Yonkers and he was bonkers.
  • Spent a couple nights here with my husband, 2 and 5 year old and two of our friends. Amazing, it was so relaxing to sleep with the sound of waves in the background. I wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely be back. One tip; bring bottled water, the park water supply has a lot of iron in it and tastes a bit funny.
  • We went camping at the campsite and could not even talk with at inside voice level after 11 without getting threatened by the park ranger. Ranger claims to want to detain us and hold us with bail until we meet bound. This is reducilus that we got threaten by the park ranger and should not have received this harassment. We also could not use a flash light to go to the rest room. I wouldn't recommend going to this campground with the harassment from the park rangers. My 2 children had to go to the bathroom at 11pm and the second I turned on my flashlight the officer came by and informed me that we cannot have lights on after 1030. My daughter was so scared that she was not able to hold her pants. This park is so scary. My daughter was so startled.
