  • Our school has been coming to this State forest for years, and every time it is a blast. Reading some of the comments I saw one person complaining about chemicals in the water and black sand. If they had bothered to actually take the tame to look at the park, there is a building with lots of information. Nuclear Power doesn't cause pollution, and the black sand is iron that forms naturally. The people are not sick, I have family in the area and they absolutely love it. Maybe the reason they couldn't breath was allergies, but I know that the accusations of the park being disgusting and polluted are undoubtedly false.
  • Came here for the doggy beach and we loved it. Staff was helpful, and the place was clean. The main building had a little bit of history and info that I enjoyed looking at. It did not cost much. There was a little bit of a walk to the beach, so be ready for that. We will go again!
  • Let me start by saying the 2 stars is not due to the grounds or the forest or the beach at all, all those deserve 5 stars. This place is majestic and has great beaches. However the sheriff came by our site and warned us that after 10 is quiet time and there is to be only quiet inside voice volume. We adhered to his request and then he came back about 10 minutes later and FREAKED out and said that we cannot be talking at all and if he can hear us from the path (which was 10 feet away) then we are being too loud. we were whispering. He threatened us with getting arrested and kicked out of the park, I kid you not this is a true story. His name was officer Yonkers and he was bonkers.
  • I would give this place no stars if I had the option. The harsh chemicals from the nuclear power plant make it hard to breathe, swimming in the lake is insane. All the people are emaciated and very ill looking. After spending A little time here you will realize it's not just old people you are looking at. EVERYONe looks ill even children. The trees are dying wilted all around the lake and Sand has so much black in it from he chemicals of the lake. At first glance this place may seem normal but to anyone with kean since of their surroundings you will not stay very long but run for hills ! You will end up looking like these people and moving as slowly as them if you stay here and swim in their lake. Would make a great twilight zone episode !
  • Beautiful park! Very nice trails and big campsites. Loved walking through the leaves and on the beach.
