Shoshone Falls, Twin Falls

Known as “The Niagara of the West,” Shoshone Falls are a 65 m (212 ft) high and 300 m (1,000 ft) wide wonders of nature. These waterfalls are actually 14 m (45 ft) taller than Niagara's. Admire the falls and the scenic surroundings from the observation platforms. Continue exploring on the hiking trails, or relax in the picnic area. A play area and restrooms are also available. If you're up for a longer visit, head to the launch platform for Evel Knievel’s famous attempt to clear the Snake River Canyon, which is located 3 km (1.8 mi) from the falls. Had a great time watching the falls. Recommend the next time you're in Twin Falls. Visited during a big run off and the water was roaring over the falls.
Maybe some times of the year there is a charge, but not in fall when we visited. Much of the water was being diverted for irrigation so it wasn't as big as I remembered it on our visit five years ago,... read more »
