  • Even for late December, it was crowded. The staff was nice and efficient and kept the line moving. They were quite knowledgeable as well.  more »
  • Just a gift shop, restaurant and private tour hub. No information on how to navigate the park on your own. We thought it was the official visiting centre by the title. The official visiting centre in....  more »
  • This place is large with lots of souvenirs for purchase. Very nicely arranged and decorated. Also a very busy place with buses coming often filled with tourists. They have a couple places inside...  more »

  • Early April 2019 visit to South Rim of Grand Canyon. Photos are our arrival after 5pm. Worked out with an unbelievable sunset! Bathrooms, book store, museum, easy rim trail and available colored coded shuttles to take you to different parts of the park, all with plenty of large viewing windows! Parking is scattered around park, though not always displayed on informational boards. Was not too busy nor crowded. Next morning. Established hiking trail on South Rim... for the adventurous! No fencing nor rails. For the fainted hearted with acrophobia, walked only five switches, then returned. Absolutely incredible views! Yet for people like me, only from the top of the Rim. Last photo with morning blue sky was my stopping point of my hike. Such beauty, such magnificent grandeur. A must-see national park!
  • A wealth of information here. This is the final catch all stop before you head in or head out of the Grand Canyon area. For those who haven't visit here before, I recommend you spend about a bit of time here to get an understanding and history of the Grand Canyon, look at the map and ask staff here for advice on planning your visit (Don't try to cram everything in a day). It'll be good time to double check your day pack and lock your car before you catch the bus. Restroom here are clean but do expect a line during their busy time.
  • They were prepared for the cold weather to sell hot cocoa. I have no complaints to report. Honestly I had low expectations for a visitor center, but they had cute wares and the cocoa was better than I've had anywhere else. (Probably 4 total places.) They had a nice fireplace area where people were congregated.
  • Great movie and interactive exhibits. The interpretive rangers were helpful and answered all my questions and guided my family in the right direction. Use the free bus system in the park to get around, it's super easy and we never had to wait.
  • Holy crowds!! Best choice I made was to stop at the near by town and catch the bus., I was in the park in less then 10 minutes, no parking hassles (and it would have been a hassle) Last time I was there, a few years ago, there was a large snow storm the day/night before. I was the only one in the park and spent two nights at the bottom by myself, this time...not so much. I didn't hike down but the park was full of peeps. Anyway I was glad to show my kid the big ditch.
