  • Gilcrease's mother was Indian and he embraced this side of his heritage. Definitely make a stop here to see early American Indian pottery, and a wide variety of Indian artists. The work of Willard Stone, a genius wood carver, was worth the trip in itself. He makes the wood come alive. I was floored by Thomas Moran's Specters from the North (which is very much like Frederick Edwin Church's The Icebergs, which hangs in the Dallas Museum of Art).
  • the Frida Kahlo show was exceptional. Very interesting take on this great artist. It's possible to walk around the museum. If you have a bank account at Bank of America, the admission is free once a month and that is great. I advise you to have a brunch at the Gilcrease Restaurant. It's 20 bucks the view is stunning The service is pretty high class The staff is welcoming and polite
  • Funday Sunday is a must every month. My daughter and I love the art, the crafts and she likes walking around the property. Very kid friendly. So glad we get to go as often as we do. See you next month.
  • Gilcrease, is much more than a museum, ***it's wheelchair accessible*** with excellent presentations of Native Art. Come and explore one of Tulsa's best kept secrets... Easy to see in a day, inexpensive and close to downtown hotels... be safe have fun be nice
  • Gilcrease museum has wonderful permanent displays, excellent educational opportunities for kids including their Sunday Funday once a month. They also have an extensive collection of artifacts in their archives excellent live performances in their auditorium.
