  • love love love his beautiful area! be careful which trail you take becase if you go down you gotta go p and the mega loop is hard! i dont advise someone with asthma like myself doing that one!
  • Maybe you've already gone by Rutledge falls and seen the usually packed area especially during the summer... Only a few miles out of Tullahoma and you will find this little sweet serene area. There ar...  read more »
  • What can I say? This was one of the nicest, most exhausting hikes I've been on. The markers are so confusing and we really had no clue what we were doing or where we were going. That's our fault, as w...  read more »
  • As a geologist, this is a great place to observe the Geology of middle Tennessee and to look for fossils. I found some nice crinoid specimens on the point bars at the end of the stream from Machine Falls. I didn't take anything due to the abundance of these fossils throughout this part of Tennessee, but still it's nice to show others in the park. The hiking is quite pleasant either by yourself or with a group. Hiking to the falls can take about 15-20 min
  • Easily my favorite waterfall hike. It's challenging enough to give you some perspective of how unfit you are but the hike itself is not overly long.
  • Stunning! If you haven't been here you need to visit. It's worth getting a little wet and filling a bit of your adventure cup.
  • Awesome place for a good hike and pretty scenery. I definitely recommend viewing Machine Falls from the base - it is incredibly gorgeous.
  • Since the place is visited for people that drive many miles to get here, I think Tennessee State Park could take care of few detalles that have been missed and it does not cost any money: Trailhead across the road just beside power plant tower, missed information about all trails and secondary trails . Others "trails", that take you to the wrong place, missed sign for how many miles for some of the trail. etc, etc, etc..... Any way, it worthy all sacrificios....The place is really amazing! ...By the way, take away the photo with the tower that say: "Short Springs Recreation Area"..It does not exist....The closer place to camping is Barton Spring, about 10 miles drive. A good sign to get the trai head is the Power Plant....
