Old Tucson, Tucson

3.8
#2 of 17 in Theme Parks in Arizona
Experience life in the Old West at Old Tucson by strolling down the streets fit for a town from 1853 to 1912. Films like "El Dorado" were shot here, as well as several episodes of the TV show "Little House on the Prairie." Living history demonstrations and saloon dancers bring the town to life, or for more of the movie aspect, take in a stunt show. Tour the studios to get a better picture of specific aspects of life in the Old West, like the demands on the town sheriff, or the danger of rail travel. Don't miss your chance to dress up in Western attire and have your photo taken. • Night I went to the Halloween event houses of horror. It is a good idea of the old West very father I guess day, but for halloween I think that it was very expensive for the experience compared to other places in Tucson. Do not say you that in there to pay additional to the entry, so is that are selective to where to enter. Very familiar, probably in plan known as vivian and the old West works, outside of that, I'm not sure

  • We attended Nightfall 2017 and had a fairly good time, however the last show we attended in 2015 was much better. The first show of the night was more like a bad middle school/junior high play. Not ne...  more »
  • We went for their yearly haunted horror of the old west. Their shows are great. From funny to scary. We made the mistake of going on a weekend night. It got a little too crowded for me. Likewise I wen...  more »

  • Located in National park isn't it ? But because I went on a weekday to avoid crowds I was not let in to view the sets, even though there were people inside from a school tour. I wasn't interested in anything but viewing the sets and was willing to pay to get in just for that. Of course the gift shop was open... but I declined to shop under the circumstances Glad I went to Goldfield, neat place and they don't fence you out . I live far away from here and was excited to see it when I stumbled onto it. I am a huge old west buff....but Don't think I'll return.
  • A fun place to go on a hot day. Lots of cold water stations. Employees stopping to help kids have fun. Water guns offered on entry, with many opportunities for water fights. Great grilled cheese sandwiches at the Pony Express. Convenient clean restrooms throughout area.
  • The best... OTS holds some of the best events out there. They are friendly and super helpful. They hold some great history to the old west. Not to mention they also offer up some great history in the film industry.
  • Very cool location!! I came for the Wild Wild West Steampunk Convention, and it was the perfect atmosphere! The old buildings set the tone. I caught one of their regular shows (a shootout) between convention panels, which was fun and well done. Initially I though the food in the restaurants was pricey, but they give you a lot of it and it's tasty, so it's worth it. Be sure you try the Prickly Pear Lemonade!!
  • We visited yesterday and were gravely disappointed in our trip. Do not do the panning for gold. Huge disappointment for a 7 year old. They show you big "gold" nuggets as you pay, but they only have sand in the trough. The girl selling the tickets said they stopped restocking months ago, so why are they still charging little kids to participate, only to leave greatly disappointed?! She said she felt guilty selling the tickets knowing we wouldn't find any "gold". Seriously, Old Tucson, this ruined the trip for us. What kind of geniuses do you have running this place that think it's ok to ripoff little kids and ruin a family visit over a $3 activity?! Either make it free or stock the trough! This was thievery to show a small child "gold" nuggets when you know there is nothing in the trough. Every family left disappointed and some were very angry. You better fix this situation or word will spread fast not to waste your money visiting this place! Also, the lady at the fudge shop was so rude we didn't buy anything. We went in wanting to buy fudge and treats for our family. No wonder the place wasn't crowded! Your management needs to get on the stick and fix these issues pronto! Very shameful and disappointing.
