Love it - a place to trade what I no longer need for what I really want. Granted the trade-in prices are not that great, but it's value for free and the low selling prices, coupled with the extensive ... read more »
This place is always a delight if you enjoy poking around looking at used books. They also sell plenty of new items, music, kids toys and books, video games and assessories, and many times they have i... read more »
Friends took me here as we're all book lovers. This place has thousands of used books in almost every genre, all at half-price or less. But: they also have used audio/video gear; used cameras; used in... read more »
This place is great. I love the new selection of musical instruments. They really are more than just books now. I get nostalgic and buy nintendo games, trade new books for used ones and I don't know about you but I love the smell of older books, with slightly yellowed pages. Puzzles, and curious . great stuff here. I miss the coffee out front.
When you take them items to sell, count them before you go in and again before you leave. This Bookmans gave me 15 extra books that I did not bring in. I went in with science fiction and left with teenage Romance. The Bookmans on Grant lost two books. Only take them things when you want to purchase with store credit because they will not give you a decent cash price.
I love the fact that Bookmans credit is good for any store. Trade in your DVD movies on Ina and buy a tent at the sports exchange
Best of the three bookmans... Not the biggest, but by far the cleanest, most organized and the best employees overall. Love this location
If this Bookman's wasn't the only one nearby to me I wouldn't shop here. It's not so much the prices, although sometimes I am baffled at the low low trade credit or extremely high prices of some things like NES games. If a game is $5 on over 500 listings across eBay and amazon and Bookman's staff tells me they use things like that to determine price, why are these being sold for $30.. Then if you ask again you get responses like, oh...we have a special pricing that only we see. Also most of the staff is rude and talks about customers behind their backs. I was lucky enough to catch one talking about me and how stupid I was for trading some stuff in. Small confrontation but it ended there. The manager also walks around like he's got a stick up his butt and is extremely rude. Maybe he's trying to maintain his "cool guy" attitude. Get a grip Bookman's.
